Event workers had been told to fire off confetti pods when Bush said, 'God Bless'... his normal closing line. But 5 minutes before the end of his speech, Bush offered a "God Bless" to Arlene Howard, mother of George Howard a Port Authority of New York/New Jersey Police Officer killed in the World Trade Center... BLAM!!!!! Everyone first ducked -- hard -- then looked up to see confetti falling. Bush looked momentarily stunned, then plain unhappy, then just went on with his speech as the confetti rained to the floor of the Verizon Wireless Arena... Developing...
Well there goes New Hampshire fer sure. Just damn.
Well, if the 'rats can't get their balloons to fall as expected, you think they could have done this? Ha!
Besides, if it was them, someone would have shouted "Where the f**k is the f**kin confetti" first...
And he blew it.
Kerry has already cut an ad charging more incompetence.
LOL! The poor guy was probably really nervous and just heard the words and BLAM! LOL! It's pretty funny really. Now, I do feel for Arlene Howard and everything. I hope she understands that the guy just goofed and that we all appreciate her son very much.
It's Bush's fault!
right .......
I think the point is that just for one second, it is likely that Pres Bush and everyone else there mistook the "blam" sound for a possible terrorist attack.
Whoever the confetti shooters are, they are not the brightest of bulbs that's for sure.
It's so hard to get good help these days.
"This President told us that there'd be confetti at the end of his speech, but it was 5 minutes early! My friends, it's time for a President who levels with the American people about confetti."
Kerry moments later.
GO DUBYA!!!! God bless him!!!!
Just wait. The MSM 'Rats will make this the Bush clip of the day. You watch.
Shortly after 9/11, at a game in Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, the visiting coach (can't remember who it was) hadn't been briefed that the cannons on the pirate ship are fired when points are scored.
So when the Bucs scored a touchdown, and the first cannon shot fired, the visiting coach ducked and covered his head with his hands.
It was amusing, but understandable. Everybody was on edge at the time, especially in outdoor public venues.
Well Bush has obviously lost my vote...sarcasm.
He's human, not a plastic made-up phoney like his opponent. It seems the closer we get to Tuesday the more nits are being picked here on FR. We've all got to calm down (I will admit it isn't easy).
"Good Grief! the comedian's a bear!"
ff
Well, it happened to me . . . but it wasn't my fault.
