Note to add to the article: I just noticed that one of the alleged ex-CIA agents who assisted Kerry's CIA-drug investigation, David MacMichael, is now with Veteran Intelligence Professionals for Sanity. At the time of Kerry's investigation MacMichael was linked to the International Center for Development Policy (mentioned above in the article) and the Council for Hemispheric Affairs (COHA), and in connection with this was investigated by the FBI for suspicious contacts at the Nicaraguan embassy.
He was the "star witness" for the Sandinistas, testifying in the World Court against the United States in 1984 saying (among other things):
"I do not believe that there is Nicaraguan government involvement or use of Nicaraguan territory in any significant way for the supply of arms or other war materiel."MacMichael was also a source for Patti Davis' book, Deadfall, about U.S. involvement in Nicaragua, along with other notable contributors: actor Mike Farrell; screenwriter David Seltzer; Hollywood producer and veteran cinematographer Haskell Wexler; and Eric Hamburg, a former legislative aide to Sen. John Kerry
