MacMichael is a piece of work. This guy worked for the CIA for two years when he was in his 50's (1981-83) and somehow the media treats him as a credible source for his entire life. At age 75 (approx), he was recently quoted critizing the Porter Goss CIA appointment. What did he do for the first 1/2 century of his life?

He was the "star witness" for the Sandinistas, testifying in the World Court against the United States in 1984 saying (among other things):

"I do not believe that there is Nicaraguan government involvement or use of Nicaraguan territory in any significant way for the supply of arms or other war materiel."
MacMichael was also a source for Patti Davis' book, Deadfall, about U.S. involvement in Nicaragua, along with other notable contributors: actor Mike Farrell; screenwriter David Seltzer; Hollywood producer and veteran cinematographer Haskell Wexler; and Eric Hamburg, a former legislative aide to Sen. John Kerry

Interesting--Farrell, who is with Human Rights Watch, was linked to the MoveOn.org affiliate Win Without War and Joseph Wilson's efforts there, as Wilson mentions in his book.
