You may have a point there. Perhaps it is not desensitization as much as it is an evolution of our language. The boy said he was "killed" by his father, which is the terminology that one would use in a situation where one's video game character is terminated. I've played my share of video games. I think his relatie calmness may be more of his onwn unique personality, he is probably very intelligent.
What a beautiful kid!
>>this is a side effect of the desensitization to violence<<
Very similar to what our GI's experience from close combat. After you've seen a couple of dozen dead corpses, none of them bother you anymore.................................until you get home and are in the safety of America.
That's when the nightmares start coming and you get your chance to weep, shake, and sweat reliving the terror you saw in combat.
Support our protectors, no matter if they are in greens, dress uniforms or discharged!
Next the gun controllers will go after knives. What a brave little boy.
Being a Mother of 6, I think of my precious children. My youngest is 9.
The little boy was traumatized. I me, Hell, your daddy kills your mother and tells you you're next. That'll F*** anybody, especially a child.
Tears. Poor kid.
I'm sure he was in shock. That could explain the calmness, but let's give him a big applause anyway. He's got a lot on his plate right now. I hope he can get a good home with a stable family to help him grow up well. Poor kid.
I agree. I think he was in shock, too.
Beheading by the government is appropriate. Beheadings by terrorist groups or insurrectionists is not. One is sanctioned by God and the others are criminals to be destroyed by a legitimate government. One is done in public under government authority and the other in hiding because they know they're evil.
I can tell you because I live here. Spending millions upon millions on a computer system that doesn't work.
You mean he didn't ask them to send John Kerry?
not onlny did he not ask for john kerry he also didnt ask for the u.n to get a resolution passed by france and germany before they send the army men and ambulance
For God's sake we even put down killer Pit Bulls humanely. If you substitute the word "Allah" for God in your reply, it might well have been written by Saddam. His "government" was legitimate. He was elected with 100% of the vote as I recall.
Amen. As a survivor of child abuse my heart is broken - again. I pray for these children every day, as the life they have ahead of them will forever include a hole in their heart. I pray God sends him someone to truly love him.
Your post sparked a memory - about thirty years ago a man I worked for described how, when he was a boy in New Jersey, they would broadcast on the radio the execution of someone convicted of murder. He said that the announcer's step by step intonation of what was happening as the prisoner was led from his cell to the execution chamber was positively chilling. This man said: "Let me tell you, it IS a deterrant to hear that" I've never forgotten and can still recall how he told that story.
Thank you so much for sharing FRiend.
I am convinced that you and I are right. These generations don't get it.
Do you remember Charlie Starkweather?
That poor boy, to lose his parents like that.
I am confused. What does being stabbed by your father with a butcher knife, have to do with gun control? I think I have missed something.
