Before the Democratic National Convention, when Kerry threw out the first pitch of a Sox-Yankees game, Schilling yelled "Go Bush" to political reporters who were still in the Red Sox locker room after Kerry had departed.

I love Schilling more and more everyday! ;^)
I know there have been lots of stories about the GMA appearance, but this is the first I heard about what happened before the DNC convention.
Just wanted to share......
I may have to buy a Schilling shirt.
Too bad he can't make the campaign stops because of his foot....sounds like b.s. from liberal doctors if you ask me. He can pitch 2 games and run and pile up in game 4 with his team on the mound but can't sit on a bus and walk up stairs for Bush.
As Bugs Bunny would say..."love it, love it, Looooovvvve it!"
SCHILLING '08
I thought I read wthat Schilling will be in New Hampshire campaigning for the President?
The president called to thank Schilling, now a local hero after his two post-season performances in a bloody sock, covering a sutured ankle tendon that will require surgery to repair. Bush congratulated the pitcher and invited him to campaign with him today. He will introduce Bush at rallies at the Verizon Wireless Arena in Manchester and at the Pease Airport in Portsmouth.
Schilling, who has a home in Medfield but is not registered to vote there, according to the town clerk's office, has expressed his Bush sympathies in the past but never to a nationwide television audience. Before the Democratic National Convention, when Kerry threw out the first pitch of a Sox-Yankees game, Schilling yelled "Go Bush" to political reporters who were still in the Red Sox locker room after Kerry had departed.
Like the president, Schilling is a born-again Christian, and he has been supportive of the US war effort in Iraq.
The son of a career soldier, Schilling is a military enthusiast, an expert in military strategy games, and a student of military history, especially World War II. He has a collection that includes the beret worn by British field marshal Bernard Montgomery during the North Africa campaign and a small vehicle used by the German army to clear minefields, according to a 2001 profile of the pitcher in USA Today.
New Hampshire political analysts said the timing of the high-profile endorsement can help rally the faithful of the Bush campaign in New Hampshire, a state Bush narrowly won four years ago but polls show he could lose to Kerry on Tuesday. But they doubted Schilling would be a decisive factor in voters making up their minds in the next few dayshttp://www.boston.com/sports/baseball/redsox/articles/2004/10/29/schilling_delivers_for_bush_on_good_morning_america/
Wow--more fabulous stuff from Schilling!!! I wish we still had him on the Phillies... How is this being received in other Boston media outlets?

And a bit more about Schillng and his father...
From Fathers.Com...July 3, 2002
Curt Schilling, World Series co-MVP pitcher for the Arizona Diamondbacks, announced the birth of his fourth child, Garrison Michael, last Thursday. "I am incredibly thankful that God has given me such a wonderful family," said the proud dad. Some believe Garrison's birth was a miracle since Curt's wife Shonda was battling melanoma during her pregnancy. In December, Shonda had the last of her five operations, and today she is cancer free. "Her battle hasn't made me a better pitcher," Curt has said, "but it's made me a better person, I hope, and a better husband and father." Schilling pays tribute his own father's influence. During one Little League season, Curt was upset because he thought the coach wasn't playing him enough. His father told him, "Then it's your job to work harder and become a better player. Make the coach change his mind about you." Curt says, "I've never forgotten that advice." Schilling's father died just a few months before Curt's major league debut in 1988. But Schilling reserved a ticket for that game so one seat could be left unoccupied--for his dad. And he has done the same for every game he's started since. "I thought it was cool that among 50,000 fans there was one empty seat in the ballpark during the seventh game of the World Series last year, and it belonged to my dad. His memory and his impact on my life are always with me."

Democratic Doctor, don't go out campaigning for Bush, your foot can't handle it. But it's okay if you go for Kerry. (last part about Kerry is my opinion.)
When Schilling finished his short interview and ended it with ... vote for Bush!, the look on announcer was PRICELESS! He didn't know whether to $hit or go blind!
If Bush wins against this corrupt, elitist MSM, the rock-solid core of America will have spoken!
I hated boston till Schill spoke out.
Kerry looked like beaver clever in the ball cap yesterday.
LOL! I haven't heard that expression since my husband was in the Army. It's very apropos. I agree - Gibson (it was Gibson, on GMA, wasn't it?) was completely nonplussed. And he made a snide comment about Schilling was "dividing the country" . . . what an idiot.
Any chance he could run for senator in Massachusetts? :o)
If you check out the end of the article the reporter(s) do their best to try and downplay any potential impact Schilling will have on the election.
He'll be in N.H. today with Bush. His foot can wait.
That would be cool. But I heard on my local sports station that during Thanksgiving last year while meeting with Theo Epstein, Schilling wanted a clause put in his contract that said if he helped the BoSox win the World Series that the Red Sox would pick up his contract through 2008 and pay him a $20 million dollar bonus.
So it looks like Curt will be busy through the 2008 baseball year.
I wonder if he is going to say anything at the parade tomorrow in Boston for the sox?
