That's a very important piece of information. I'm surprised that this fact isn't in the first few paragraphs of the article. If it weren't for this fact I'd say "no extension" but if they dont receive the ballots within a reasonable time before they are due back, that is bogus. It is disenfranchisement by the state itself, for whatever reason (cheating, neglect, ineptitude, incompetence)...

I think the following info from the article is interesting:
Some overseas voters received absentee ballots from county election officials with Nader listed as a presidential candidate, while others received ballots without the independent's name.
Rather than correct the ballots and extend the deadline, the court decided to leave incorrect ballots out there. Now, what happens to the ballots that have votes for Nader? Will they be discarded entirely, or will other votes on that form count? How can military personnel walk the line between voting early enough to be counted versus late enough to know if Nader was going to be dropped?
