With the teachers union (and others), unfortunately, yes.
God, I hate NY politics!

"What about Hillary's Senate seat? It's up in 2006, too. Are the people of New York stupid enough to re-elect her?"

Unfortunately, with the goon teachers union, yes!

The ideal candidate would be someone who is currently a governor, and who is an across the board conservative: social, economic, defense, limited government...

Bush is having the challenge of a lifetime, as a sitting president, winning this election, and that is with the entire base jazzed up about him.

Pick someone like Guiliani who is a social liberal, and there is a big section of the base that simply won't be enthusiastic, and that is death to a Republican candidate. The same would go for a nominee who was weak on defense, or in favor of raising taxes. We need every part of the coalition to be enthusiastic.

I like Mark Sanford of South Carolina -- maybe with Pawlenty of MN as his running mate.

I would like to see Guiliani and Pataki as the "long-time Senators from New York..." Same with Arnie in CA, same with Romney in MA. Great "long-time senators..." but please, not presidential candidates.

I hope Bush will swing by. If Bush loses, which I think is 50/50 at this point, at least Thune will be a consolation prize.

Next time someone at RNC HQ speed-dials me to ask my opinions, I'll be sure to let them know my position on the matter, and will pass on that you also approve!

Guarantee the circumstances will change before 2007, and a whole new set of names will come up.

This is great...I'm a SD ex-pat...and received this picture from another ex-pat... The rest of my family still lives in various places around the state. Good luck to you and to us all...

This was seen in a field about 5 miles west of Ft. Pierre on Hiways 14/34 (south side of road).

On ABC Nightly News tonight they said that Giuliani was trying to blame the Al QaQaa "missing weapons of almost mass destruction" on the troops! But they only gave a four or five word snippit " ....so it had to be the troops...." with no context. It sounds like dirty pool, because they said that Giuliani then tried to "back off" from what he had said. They did not show that.
