Somebody explain something to me...
If the CIA has determined that the tape is authentic, then why has the tape (or excerpts, or a transcript) been released to the public.
Is this not a function of our government at this point?

If the CIA has determined that the tape is authentic, then why has the tape (or excerpts, or a transcript) been released to the public. I thought they said yesterday that the CIA couldn't authenticate the tape. But that they believed it was done by that American guy out in California that is working for the terrorists?
