RE: Is Starbucks coffee opposing the war?
I'm looking for confirmation to a story. A buddy of mine has been talking his buddies in Iraq. He says a bunch of soldiers have sent email requests to Starbucks coffee, asking them for coffee to be sent to Iraq.
Word is; Starbucks execs sent them an email back, saying they wouldn't send them any coffee, as Starbucks does NOT support the war in Iraq.
Anybody heard of this?
A simple Google of "starbucks" and "iraq" turned up this:
http://www.truthorfiction.com/rumors/s/starbucks-iraq.htm
Looks like just another rumor.
FWIW, even if the Starbucks execs don't support the war a statement like this is marketing stupidity. Especially after the flak they got on 9/11 with that moron employee charging the NY Fire Department for bottled water.
I hadn't heard that before .....
!!!!!!!!
This story is NOT true. It has been debunked by "Urban Legend".
Starbucks may be "Left Wing Chic", but, they are NOT stupid!!
I just heard Terry Keenan on FOX News saying that Starbucks IS sending coffee to the Troops. And then she interviewed the CEO of the company.
