Mel Gibson will appear on second hour of ABC's "Good Morning America" program tomorrow morning. The man who produced and directed the most awesome, the most moving motion picture of 2004, will have a surprise announcement that FReepers will NOT want to miss!!!
PLEASE TUNE IN! TELL A FRIEND OR LOVED ONE AND HAVE THEM TUNE IN!!!
I'd tune in to watch him read the phone book!
I'd like the read the article if the link worked.
Again, as I asked earlier. Besides the war, what proof is this that Gibson is other an conservative? Have you been on the immigration threads? Many Freepers are firmly against Bush on the immigration issue and vehemently disagree with him. Does that make them "not as conservative?"
I'll call in my compadre's to better explain it. I'll catch you tomorrow after AM coffee.
g'night.
Here's the text:
Mel Gibson joins stars to question Iraq war
March 18, 2004
Actor Mel Gibson has become the latest in a line of celebrities to question the war in Iraq.
The usually-conservative movie star-director said he had been having "doubts" about President George W Bush.
"It's all to do with these weapons (of mass destruction) that we can't seem to find, and why did we go over there?" he asked.
Usually a Bush supporter, Gibson said a lot of what the president had done during his term in office had been "good".
But he said in the WABC radio interview that he had been "having my doubts of late".
Gibson is riding a new wave of fame at the moment with the massive success of his film, The Passion of the Christ.
Despite some controversy and claims of anti-Semitism the story of Christ's crucifixion has taken $US250 million at the box office.
The film opens in the UK on March 26.
Other Hollywood stars have spoken out against the war including Dustin Hoffman, Sean Penn, Martin Scorsese, Danny Glover and Martin Sheen.
Meanwhile, Gibson said in the interview that he planned another religious film.
He wants to tell the story of a Jewish rebellion nearly 200 years before the birth of Christ, which led to the festival of Chanukah.
By making that film Gibson might answer his critics who have branded The Passion as anti-Semitic.

It discusses how Gibson was negotiating with Michael Moore to finance Fahreheit 911, as posted by someone else earlier in this thread. Ouch!
How many conservatives do you know that wanted to help Moore create that piece of trash?
A fair point. Are they internationally known stars with significant influence over younger voters who voice their doubts to international media? If not, I fail to see the equivalence.
at the bottom of this link, the author says of Gibson
"His life was the inspiration for his production of the movie "The Man Without A Face." He is to be admired by all of us as a God fearing man, a political conservative, and an example to all as a true man of courage."
and another one about his politics and opinions
and one more entertaining one from TalkLeft
I'll see if I can get some older articles if you're interested tomorrow.
night night.
It was Gibson's company that got accosted by Moore's camp. That idea was eventually dropped, it didn't even go as far as negotiations. Things cross production tables all the time. It came and went like...forgive the expression...like a fart in a windstorm.
I'll try to dig up the story on that for you tomorrow by some reliable people I know who are more "in the know" as far as Icon Productions and that non-story than I am.
Also, please recall Diane "Everyone Tuned In To See My Legs, Not To See Mel Gibson" Sawyer asking him if he thought the Jews killed Jesus: "The big answer is, we all did. I'll be the first in the culpability stakes here."
The guy gave us a great gift; let him have his views, and then let him tell us what they are. Maybe he's just there to promote his latest project? On ABC?
CNN, Friday 10/22/04K-Stew, thanks for wading through all my gripings -- you knew they weren't for you, right? ;o)
He's not directing a sweeping battle a la his Oscar-winning "Braveheart." It's not a scene with the transcendent suffering of his "The Passion of the Christ."
Yes, it's comedy and small-screen comedy, to boot -- "Complete Savages" is a freshman sitcom for ABC (8:30 p.m. EDT Friday). Keith Carradine stars as a single father trying to keep order among his teenage boys.
Gibson is giving the show everything he's got as executive producer and, for several episodes, as director.
To prove what? That Gibson hasn't already been published saying that he lost confidence in Bush? The rest of this is irrelevant.
We'll see what the man has to say tomorrow, hope he doesn't equivocate or bash Bush -- again -- and leave it at that. That, after all, is the point, isn't it? I hope so because I'm really not up for an emotion-laden debate with the Mel-Gibson hero worship club... Big waste of time with what is on the line for this election...
Based on the last pic in your post, it looks like Mel has some serious nipple alignment issues.
I also fear that Mel may say something bad about our president like he did on the Sean Hannity show. I just wish Mel would stay away from politics altogether.
Where in the show is it?
Sorry -- I had my post #69 also addressed to "All," but I lost it. Sheesh!
*nodding off at keyboard*
I'd better do some research....
Gibson is a Buchanan/Tancredo conservative. Unless Gibson shoves his head up Bush's rear end like a good little GOP sheep he'll be flamed on FR as a commie-liberal scumbag. Don't sweat it. Some of us know better.
Thank you.
I forgot to add the antisemite attacks which will invariably follow for failing to wholeheartedly endorse zionism and support for the new world order globalist neocon empire. A libertarian or two will then chime in assuming they're not stoned on hemp and call Gibson a fascist Talibani. :-)
Aren't you going to respond to the multiple posters who've asked you questions about your post? After all, this is your thread.
....Sawyer asking him if he thought the Jews killed Jesus: "The big answer is, we all did. I'll be the first in the culpability stakes here."
That's good enough for me right now, until I see him kissing jEdwards on the lips or something.
I had to wade through much muck in the MSM to find the quote (and pics!) off-site. Funny how the Holocaust-denying, anti-Semite libs are sometimes more staunch "supporters" of the Jews than we are -- when they can use it for bashing purposes.. It's just like going over to DiminutiveUnderparts. :oP
Hmmmm. Libertarians have hemp, you say? (Just kidding!)
