Mel Gibson will appear on second hour of ABC's "Good Morning America" program tomorrow morning. The man who produced and directed the most awesome, the most moving motion picture of 2004, will have a surprise announcement that FReepers will NOT want to miss!!!
PLEASE TUNE IN! TELL A FRIEND OR LOVED ONE AND HAVE THEM TUNE IN!!!
I agree. However, some at the Vatican do not.
Glad you can read his mind, but he is on the record with criticizing Bush directly... and you can't imagine or wish that away.
We better serve conservatism if we are realistic and not emotional, IMHO. Being a fan is one thing, but let's understand what Mel is for and how he helps us and what he's not for and how that hurts us. All I ask is reality...
Great. How does that change that he has sometimes publicly and directly bashed W and, thus, undermined him? Why can't we understand what Mel can and cannot do for us and stop trying to assert that he is perfect? Sheesh...
Amen. At least there he's helpful. On Iraq, he's not helpful -- especially when defense against terror is Bush's core issue for re-election.
I admire Mel and his work in many ways, but I'm not a blind fan club member who checks my brain at the door like some on this thread seem to be.
Glad you can read his mind,
He admited it! Those where his very words. What more do you want?
Mel was hotness the most during his Mad Max days .....
Hello? Where did I say to the contrary? I did not, and please stop "imagining or wishing" me of saying such.
As I pointed out to you before (with the threads on the immigration issue), there are many here on FR who bash Bush on a daily basis on that particular issue, just like you are with yours.
Would you like to tell them that you don't think "they are all that conservative" also?
It has nothing to do with "emotion" or fan club, or any of that crap.
I just get annoyed with people like you, who blatantly make baseless accusations about someone, because you don't bother to read up on them or their opinions, site your sources, that are well documented.
I've had enough of this, have you?
It's usually polite to *ping* the person you are making personal attacks on when you refer to them.
(since you and I were in discussion on the issue, I will be presumptuous and assume it was me).
Annoyed? Yes, that's quite apparent. You do seem to lead with your emotions.
Yes, I think I'm finished with you. You can go back to your ivory tower, I'll go watch Conspiracy Theory and Mad Max and The Passion of the Christ and Hamlet and appreciate what Mel can do and won't pretend he's, overall, a friend to conservatives beyond the life issue that he's passionate about and his conviction for his faith, which I admire greatly.
BTW, I admire Arnold, too, for his fiscal conservatism, but I don't pretend he's a social conservative. And, at least he doesn't bash the President and say he has "doubts" about him to be printed as quotes by reporters.
Keep in mind that someone who has some conservative positions isn't necessarily conservative. We don't define the whole by a part -- that would be illogical. Otherwise, the anti-war crowd could just as easily use your "logic" and claim Mel is a liberal. Hmmm?
(Now I suppose you want to tell me that McCain is a conservative because he is campaigning for Bush...)
Yes, that would be presumptuous. It was a general observation.
LOL! you crack me up! A $3 billion bill he endorses on state funded Stem cell research? Oh yeah, if that' s your "idea" of fiscal conservatism, no wonder we disagree.
Thanks for the laughs. You make absolutely no sense, and you cannot back up your opinions with even half truths. But, everyone is entitled to them nonetheless.
Have a good evening.
I agree. However, that is not his only act as governor.
The difference is that I understand people are not all or nothing while you are so busy gushing over "Mel" that you can't recognize that he is, like many people -- even Republicans -- a mixed bag. To you, I guess, that's half truths... because you tend to see things in absolutes... a political danger. I prefer reality.
is going to announce that Mad Max 4: Fury Road is to begin production?! finally!
Which show is that? The UPN link doesn't specify it.
Mel has a new show called Kevin Hill which is about a single man which inherits a baby girl. The man hires a homosexual nanny to take care of the child while he is out swinging. Expalin it away if you wish, but Gibson's actions speak lounder than words. By the way, what kind of man gives an interview to a pornographic magazine such as Playgirl - my guess is that there aren't many "girls" that buy that magazine.
The show is called Kevin Hill. See post 136.
He was a hunk back then but I also think he gets better looking every time I see him. Perhaps my lust is age-appropriate.
