I know Gibson was at the RNC convention, and hosted a private party. Plus I heard Gibson say that he is going to vote for the guy who is most spiritual. That was a couple months ago. Hence W.

Gibson was on Laura Ingraham's mornig show today. He has come out against the California initiative on stem cell research. That is probably what it is all about.

Hmmm, some people on this site need to apologize to Gibson for trashing him and saying he was supporting Kerry.

It's slightly confounding that no one can tell us exactly what happened.

Perhaps something about the stem cell research issue?

I said he was either gonna slam stem cell research or come out against Iraq. Thank God, he went the stem cell route.

What's the announcement that he's producing another TV show glorifying homosexuality? Mel's only in it for the money.

The whole point of this entire argument was that you were not able to back up your blatant remark about Gibson and prove that "he is not as conservative as you think," despite my backing up the contrary multiple times.

See post 113. Mel has a new TV show which glorifies homosexuality. He's certainly not as conservative as I thought he was.

I'm confused, GG, what does a show about a lawyer have do to with Gibson "glorifying homosexuality?" Your link says nothing about either.

You don't know much about Gibson's views on homosexuality, do you? He was pegged a long time ago in Hollyweird as being a "homophobe," based on his well known comments in a long ago Playgirl interview. The subject came up again around the time of "Braveheart" because of more comments he made.

In order to "apease" the gay community (and to keep working in Hollywood) he's had to extend an olive branch and be diplomatic about it.

A google search on the topic and some of the articles will give you light of how he feels personally about the subject. Because he has to work with them (it's a fact of life if you work in the entertainment industry), he's got to be diplomatic. It doesn't make him personally "not that conservative."

I cannot see how this would be some anti-Bush tirade coming up in the morning. Gibson is running anti-prop71 commercials in California, he does not fully support the Pope because of his brand of catholicism, and he has taken very tough stands for truly conservative issues.

If I read him correctly, he is solid (even with his--unconfirmed to me--stance against the Iraq war). No way he is part of the Hollywood left elitists.
