Here's how I read this total story.

We have satellites and spy planes. We were looking all over Iraq in preparation for our invasion. Therefore, we have KNOWN since February, 2003, that the Russians helped Hussein move these items into Syria and hid them, and where they were hidden.

Rathen than make all this public, we quietly told Syria and Russia that we knew what they did. That gave us a hammer over both of those nations. Could that be a reason why Russia has been remarkably cooperative lately. Could it be why Syria has just made a partial withdrawal from Lebanon?

But now the New York Times and CBS made the subject public by running a phony story. And John Kerry shot his mouth off on the basis of that story.

We can't let any bad guys get their hands on this stuff. So now that the subject is public, we have to warn Syria (and be ready to back it up) that if anyone lays a finger on those weapons and exppplosives, we'll have to take care of business.

So because various people are too stupid to keep their mouths shut, we may have a two-front war on our hands. And we have John Kerry, a mere candidate for office, to thank for that.

Did I get that right?

That is exactly my read, too. Kerry is interfering in delicate matters of state in a tawdry, self-serving manner.

Like his mentor, the first JFK who campaigned on a
fabrication & caused the Bay of Pigs crisis (just because he was so darn ambitious to be President), looks like our present day JFK is doing somewhat the same type of thing.
(per PBS documentary on the Bay of Pigs incident and our
nuclear crisis with Russia).

You might also add that it is possible that Kerry knows the back story due to his Senate duties, and that he chose to mislead the public in the current news cycle, hoping that the Bush camp couldn't effectively defend itself because the truth is classified. I am not saying that he absolutely did so, but it is a possibility that fits the rest of your scenario.

Bravo, Congressman Billybob! I think you are right on target.

During the debates, I was frustrated that President Bush did not use more facts to refute Kerry's charges that there were no WMDs found.

I was so frustrated ... but then it came to me that Bush knows a whole lot more than he can talk about - and Kerry was taking advantage of that.

Kerry got away with it in the debates, but now, it's gonna come crashing down on Kerry - in a VERY BIG way. He has made a complete and utter fool of himself over the past few days....
