I have always thought the administration knew just where the WMDs went but didn't want say so.(Syria) This has always been about preventing the spread and use of these weapons. As soon as we let on that we knew where they were, they'd be transported to God knows were.

This new info butresses my theory.

And if russia moved these, what else did they move... eh??? WMD for 1000, alex...???

It has never made a lick of sense that all the worlds' intelligence agencies said Saddam has WMD but they were wrong. And the idea that Saddam had himself fooled into believing he had WMD was even more far fetched. I had given up on any trace of them ever being found, but this sure does open up the possibility. Dear God, I just pray that we can recover them before they're used against us.

Putin had a 9-11 moment. The same moment that changed many 9-11 Democrats.

And ABC is sitting on a terrorist tape threating more of the same.

From Gertz:

The Russian arms-removal program was initiated after Yevgeny Primakov, the former Russian intelligence chief, could not convince Saddam to give in to U.S. and Western demands, this official said.

A small portion of Iraq's 650,000 tons to 1 million tons of conventional arms that were found after the war were looted after the U.S.-led invasion, Mr. Shaw said. Russia was Iraq's largest foreign supplier of weaponry, he said.

However, the most important and useful arms and explosives appear to have been separated and moved out as part of carefully designed program. "The organized effort was done in advance of the conflict," Mr. Shaw said.

The Russian forces were tasked with moving special arms out of the country.

Mr. Shaw said foreign intelligence officials believe the Russians worked with Saddam's Mukhabarat intelligence service to separate out special weapons, including high explosives and other arms and related technology, from standard conventional arms spread out in some 200 arms depots.

The Russian weapons were then sent out of the country to Syria, and possibly Lebanon in Russian trucks, Mr. Shaw said.

Later, his campaign conceded that the Hussein regime might have removed the munitions before the invasion.

If we didn't make it in time to stop them, does that mean that instead of rushing to war, we delayed too long?

Hold on now. It's my understanding after talking to a treadhead on one of the old Stryker threads that the KORNET was never in theater. Analysis of the two Abrams kills led away from the conclusion that they got tagged by the Russian weapon.

IIRC, both Abrams got hit in the ass. The Abrams is to armor today what the PzKW VI Ausf. A Tiger I was to armor in 1943: the baddest damn thing on the battlefield. However, like the Tiger, you could disable an Abrams by a good hit in the ass. Unlike the Germans, we were able to come up with workarounds to the threat of the "Kornet" within days of the first tank being hit.

Be Seeing You,

Chris

"Why would the Russians give a crap about this stuff"

For the same reason they didn't want us invading. Their markings were all over this stuff I bet.

There is nothing wrong with planning for possible eventualities--that is prudent. But geez, have some faith, will you?

We really do have a man of God as our president. Give him his due. He's a masterful poker player, and more importantly, IMO he is divinely guided.

"This will dominate the news until election day and beyond."

With fair, objective MSM, yes. But we haven't had fair, objective MSM in my lifetime. If the MSM judges that this angle will damage their agenda, then it will not be allowed to dominate. Sadly, for many Americans, the news is still what the MSM says it is. (By the way, my wife says she saw an editorial that used a better acronym; BM for Big Media.)
