Even more noteworthy than New Jersey is Hawaii. Hawaii sort of exists in a vacuum-- there's no advertising dollars spent there, no get out the vote drives, and nobody is campaigning there. I wonder what people see and hear in Hawaii that makes a 20 point Kerry lead evaporate that the rest of the country is supposedly missing. It makes you wonder how close things really are or aren't. Not that I'm getting complacent...

I might run for president just to make frequent campaign appearances in Hawaii...

The dems have run beautiful Hawaii into an economic dumpster. They know they need a republican to turn it around for them.

If I am not mistaken, they have a republican governor and it seems Inouye and Shinseki have been silent.

Decades of Democrat corruption, a stagnant economy, epidemic drug abuse, no future for the Islanders' children all led Hawaii to elect its first Republican governor since 1962.

Could it be the military contingent? EVERYONE I run into with a military background (or family members) is very outspoken and pro-Bush.
