Just attended the Kerry rally in Cedar Rapids, Iowa proudly wearing my "Dubya 2004" button. Kerry was to appear with John Bon Jovi. I only went because it is about 2 blocks from my home. This was said to be Kerry's "final" campaign speech.....Observations below...
Went through more security at the Kerry rally than I did at the Bush rally in Waterloo, Iowa last month.
Crowd was doing the wave. This was initiated by rock band types on stage, who then gave way to Kerry. Kerry staffers were throwing t-shirts out into crowd. I would estimate crowd at about 7,000. Place was NOT full by any means, and people were pretty regularly streaming out.
I listened to a bit of Kerry's speech. LOTS of promises of funding alternative fuels, education ("fix our failing schools"), research etc. I left when he started talking about Artificial Intelligence! NO lie.
On my way out I ran into a woman and her daughter who stopped me because of my button and said they were glad to see me. The woman said that they were "forced" to attend the rally by the girl's teacher, and they were glad to be getting the heck out of there. I asked if they had been told to attend a George Bush rally and they said no. Imagine....
In general the crowd was VERY different than what I saw at the Bush rally. You can use your imagination on that one....
Thanks for sharing!
"forced" to attend the rally by the girl's teacher?
Absolutely disgusting....the woman should not have gone and filed a suit!
Thanks for this post.....and I can just picture it "yawn"
Sometimes you need to see communism first hand to remember why we hate it...

That's gutsy for going to it...
If you didn't scream 'shove it' at least once, you have no nads. Sorry...
I think I would rather slit my eye with a razor blade and pour piss on it than listen to Kerry speak.
Thanks for sharing as that was pretty interesting.
Am going to shower now. In bleach........
Well I hate to disappoint, but I didn't scream, just laughed. And I don't have nads to begin with.. I'm a chick! :)
I can imagine. Big difference between doing something because you wanted to, and being forced to do something you don't.......(Kinda like our all volunteer army, vs. one that is drafted...)
Also, considering it was a Kerry rally, the average IQ was probably about room temperature......(I was being kind....)
Now tell me how GWB won't be given a second term?
You realize, of course, that, using the multiplier employed by the MSM, you increased attendance by 1000 people just by showing up.
You were very brave being in attendance. (Remember the little girl weeping in her fathers arms after a Kerry supporter took his Bush Poster and ripped it up?)
Kerry has a plan......... getting elected. After that he has no clue of what he will do.
I was wondering if you saw the guy with spiked blue hair there? Typical sKerry supporter.
Last time I needed to do some infiltration and undercover of lib group, I had to plead one of my girlfriends to go with me. You see, I needed someone to appear to be my "partner" in order to fit in better with the attendees. It's a different crowd alright....
I got out of it by promising to clean every restroom in the bus station with my tongue.
Didn't see the spiked hair guy. Honestly... I kinda feared for my safety, what with wearing the Dubya button around all the "unstable" folk and all..
"Also, considering it was a Kerry rally, the average IQ was probably about room temperature......"
Only if the thermostat was set at 32 degrees...(I'm not that kind)
