Blunt's Lead Grows to Eight!
McCaskill trails 52% to 44% in latest poll
Blunt leads McCaskill by an eight-point margin, according to the latest independent poll conducted for KOMU TV in Columbia and KSDK TV in St. Louis. According to the SurveyUSA poll, Blunt leads McCaskill 52 percent to 44 percent. Blunts lead has grown by two points since the last SurveyUSA poll was released one week ago, while McCaskill has remained stagnant at 44 percent. Blunt's lead is outside of the polls 3.8 percent margin of error.
Clearly, voters are rejecting McCaskills unfounded attacks on Matt Blunts age, her distortions of his record of accomplishment as Secretary of State, and her dismissive attitude towards Blunts long record of military service. But Election Day is still six days away, and liberal special interest groups, service unions, and trial attorneys are flooding McCaskills treasury with millions of dollars for her to use on television ads that distort Matt Blunts record even more than she already has.
In the final days of the 1998 Democrat primary for State Auditor, McCaskill ran a false ad accusing her opponent of not paying his taxes, only to apologize for the ad after she won the race. McCaskill weakly blamed her decision to lie about her opponents record on campaign fatigue.
If her current commercials are any indication, then McCaskill already appears to be headed for another bout of campaign fatigue. As McCaskill gets more and more desperate in the final days of this race, theres no telling what shell say or do.
Yup. Sounds good.
Go MO!
Yup. Sounds good.
Interesting -
So her opponent, knowing how she works - should get out ahead this time - and highlight what she did last time and warn the public to watch out for it this time -
The games of politics - or how the media entertains itself
I cannot wait to have a Republican governor like Matt Blunt. After 8 years of Carnahan and 4 years of Holden....it will be like spring after a 12 year winter.
The flowers will bloom again.
I had the pleasure of attending a luncheon today that featured Matt Blunt and Rudy Guliani as speakers. Rudy really made the case for tort reform with an example of the guy in NY who was awarded $9 mil. after he stepped into a pothole while running and injured himself. Turns out the guy had commited a crime and was running from the police.
Matt is a great guy to see in person. I have had the pleasure to see him twice at fundraisers. He will make a great governor.
