I looked to see if anyone else had posted this - I apologize if I missed it - about 8 minutes into ABC World News Tonight, Martha Radditz ended up her report on the missing explosives with words to this effect:
Peter, late breaking information from IAEA is that when they last inspected the Al QAQaa facility in (January? March?) 2003, there were not 180 tons of high explosives, but only 3 tons.
She did qualify that I think by stating a particular type of high explosive - either MX(?) or the other of the two types, but whatever it was, sounds like there might have been a lot less left to be "missing" at any time the US forces could have been there.
like wading through a Kerry speech.
funny... did you notice the Iraqi's were just taking things with the IAEA seal on them and doing whatever...
like mixing the crazy stuff with sulphur.. ?
this stuff was going missing out from under the inspectors noses all along - seals didn't matter..
and Kerry is blaming our soldiers and officers and Bush...
Thanks for the link. The ABC story now up towards the top of Drudge.
Hell...why isn't this being bumped more?
bump
The information on which the Iraqi Science Ministry based an Oct. 10 memo in which it reported that 377 tons of RDX explosives were missing presumably stolen due to a lack of security was based on "declaration" from July 15, 2002. At that time, the Iraqis said there were 141 tons of RDX explosives at the facility.ABC News: Discrepancy Found in Explosives AmountsBut the confidential IAEA documents obtained by ABC News show that on Jan. 14, 2003, the agency's inspectors recorded that just over 3 tons of RDX was stored at the facility a considerable discrepancy from what the Iraqis reported.
Everybody PLEASE read #286!!!!
Yep....3 tons.
It proves that the Oct. letters were lies.
Well,it's bumped now and all of us will spread the word.
Thanks for the ping! :-)
You mean this October's letters? Why would the Iraqis lie about it?
One of the types (PNT or something like that) there were only like 5 tons originally.
Great....I've been freaking out.
This (IMO) is a bigger story than the Russian one (unless Putin comes out and says.."Yeah...we took it")
This means someone knowingly lied and falsified documents to try and help Kerry.
Yeah....what's that?
One pallet....
one truck?
Totally devastated a raving Dem at work today - contradicted every statement he made with info gleaned from FR posts.
BTW, DU is gleeful over the 4 (!) "witnesses" to the "looting" story coming tomorrow AM NYT.
on cnn the morning this broke on the news the broadcaster said that all the stations were flooded with emails from kerry's campaign alerting them to the story even before it was reported
