Rendell Offers Solution To Military Ballot Issue

The controversy is not going away. Lawmakers and soldiers' family members continue to press the Governor Ed Rendell to give service men and women more time to cast their votes.

The Governor came to Blair County to campaign for John Kerry Wednesday, but his first order of business was to answer more questions about this ongoing controversy, and he even offered a solution.

Moments after stepping off his bus Governor Rendell headed straight for the protestors. After quieting their chants of "Let them vote" Rendell told the group why he can't give the soldiers more time to cast their ballots.

"I don't have the power to extend the deadline, only the federal court can," said Rendell. And Rendell also refered them to the Federal Voting Assistance Program website at www.fvap.gov. It's run by the Department of Defense, and Rendell said it allows all soldiers and their families overseas to either obtain an absentee ballot or vote on-line.

Thomas Robison, whose son is in Ethiopia, said he'll tell his son about the site right away. "As long as their is a way for him to vote then I am satisfied," said Robison.

But Robison and many of the other protestors are not totally satisfied. He still thinks Rendell could do more for the soldiers. "I still don't understand the harm to extend the deadline for paper ballots."

A Channel 6 News investigation found one problem with Rendell's remarks. Soldiers and their families can obtain absentee ballots through the website, but the site does not allow soldiers to vote online.

The best way to pay for this is to begin impeachment hearings. Surely his obstructionist shennanigans violate PA law to the extent of being impeachable offenses...all that is needed is a PA legislator with a pair.

Secretary Cortez stated last week that all the military absentee ballots would be counted - in fact, all ballots would be counted. That tells me that they plan to count even the spoiled ballots, phony provisional ballots, absentee dead people ballots, etc. It's in the bag for John Kerry - not only in Pennsylvania, but all over the country. A lot of law abiding, hard working, Americans who vote for Bush will have their votes countered by a deluge of illegal and fraudulent votes. Without the fraud, President Bush would easily take the state - and the nation.

Rendell is a slick, very corrupt lawyer and former mayor and DA for Philly. He knows how to play the system to his advantage.

His standard operating procedure is to be in conformance to the law technically, while making a travesty of it on a moral and philosphical level.

Just ask him how he acquired lots of properties in Philly when he was DA..using the system to his advantage.

Yeah they plan to count ALL the ballots that arrive by or on Nov 2. After that they just don't consider them ballots I guess. Who knows how their demented minds function.

Unfortunately, you are probably correct. Dom Giordano just reported that there are more people registered to vote here than there are people over the age of 18! I just don't know how they are going to reconcile the numbers, since Philadelphia has been steadily losing population, due to big government socialist practices. In Philadelphia, everyone is equal, just some more equal than others. Yes, I agree, they will flood the City with fraudulent votes to counter the surrounding suburban areas.

Rendell is a disgrace to America. Votes for prisoners, but none for our military. Well Rendell has been noticed by other Americans thanks to Glen Beck's radio program today. And Beck slaughterd Rendell. I do have to wonder, if America is attacked again and Rendell and his family are hit, if he survives, who will he blame?
