Bush campaign website takes a dive (Dems attacking Bush campaign website)
AFP Wire ^ | 10/27/04

President George W. Bush (news - web sites)'s official re-election website was down and inaccessible for hours, in what campaign officials said could be the work of hackers.

Web surfers seeking information on the president's latest bon mot or appearances at www.georgewbush.com were greeted with an error message.

A Google search for georgewbush offered a number of alternatives, including Bushisms and Bush humour at politicalhumor.about.com or the website parody georgewbush.org, complete with spoof news stories and satirical bumper stickers.

"President's Convention Acceptance Speech Unveiling Detailed Plans for Tons More Good and Way Less Evil," went one headline.

"President Explains the Economic Miracles of Jobless Recovery and Deficit Spending," read another. "President Reassures Base: 'No Impotent Creationist NASCAR (news - web sites) Dad Left Behind,'" said a third.

Visitors were also offered a clutch of bumper stickers such as: "Bush, Quagmire Accomplished 04," "Bush, American Monarch 04," and "Moron Psycho 04."

The campaign did not return calls seeking comment.

This story is nothing more than AFP taking the opportunity to advertise anti-Bush sites and spew their garbage in a "news" story. Very lame.

There were some reports about it about a week ago. Sounds like AFP is recycling old news. Or perhaps this is their October Surprise?

When you look at all of the many things that have taken place over the last week, you begin to realize just how desparate kerry, the dnc and the MSM are. The see people beginning to wake up and realize just how dangerous the US would be if kerry were elected. Especially to the MSM, this cannot be allowed to happen. Only the MSM is qualified to tell you how to vote.

Some GOP sites are blocking foreign browsers this week. Most likely to prevent DOS attacks.

Agreed. DOS attacks from farms of zombie/hijacked pcs on broadband - using as many as 100,000 pcs at a time are well known. Its an Eastern European thing, usually done to shakedown businesses.

Democratic vandals take down the Bush campaign site, and the AP reports on how many Bush-bashing sites there are.

So typical.
