Let The Election Lawsuits Begin (Florida)

Group argues African Americans have less of an opportunity to vote in the upcoming election. Judge rejects claim.

A federal judge Monday rejected a "racial discrimination" lawsuit filed against the Duval County Supervisor of Elections.

The lawsuit was filed by a variety of groups including the Jacksonville Coalition for Voter Protection, the Southern Christian Leadership Conference, the Service Employees International Union, the AFL-CIO, CLC.

The groups argued that African-Americans in Duval County had less of an opportunity than other members of the state's electorate to vote in the upcoming election. The claim was based on grounds that Duval County has the largest percentage of registered African-American voters of any major county in the state, but only one early voting site to go to. The suit claimed the state violated voters' rights under the 14th and 15th Amendments by having fewer polling sites than similarly-sized counties.

GOOD! THROW ALL THESE LAWSUITS OUT....TWO WEEKS OF EARLY VOTING IS PLENTY FOR THE 'RATS TO COMMIT THEIR FRAUD. IF THEY CANNOT COMMIT ENOUGH FRAUD IN TWO WEEKS TO STEAL THE ELECTION, THEN THEY SHOULDN'T GET A SECOND CHANCE TO DO IT IN THE COURTS.

I CANNOT STAND MY FORMER PARTY...IS IT ANY WONDER WHY I AM HAPPILY A

I was reading a link from Drudge about this. One of the ways that the State of Florida is 'discriminating' is by throwing out votes by non-US citizens. I kid you not, when FL received ballots where 'US Citizen' was not checked, the ballot was thrown out, and Dems are upset about this. That's right everyone - Kerry wants to give your vote to Jaques Chirac.

Blacks better wake up. They can't "ride" slavery and the civil war much longer. There are many hispanics, Pakistani, etc waiting in the socialism lines. They have a choice, work now, or stand in line behind the others.

Here is how it should be done. Follow the rules exactly. If registration forms are not filled out completely, throw the registration out. If an attempt to vote provisional, and no valid registration check is found, throw it out. The hell with the CRATS and the courts. After the count is made, certify the election and declare the winner. Those a@@holes will try anything and it is time to take a stand. FL has the right to set up election rules and the court has no authority to declare anything. It's time to get the court out of the Administrative business of the State.

In Florida, elections are managed by a county's Supervisor of Elections, generally an elected office but I believe one county still appoints one. The message to Duval County is that you get what you vote for. Your own county government establishes the budget for elections, staffs the polling places, etc. In this case, the Supervisor of Elections for Duval County (big city = Jacksonville) is a Republican - Bill Scheu. DUVAL COUNTY ELECTIONS

Duval County Summary
on October 19, 2004
Democratic Republican No Party Other Total
238,264 190,111 70,356 16,471 515,202

You know why they fought for the provisional ballot.
The Dems will say:
1) It really doesn't matter that the person isn't registered.
2) What really matters is that they came out to vote.
3) Shouldn't the act of voting really be the most important thing
4) Republicans are trying to disenfranchise the most vulnerable of our citizens. The stupid ones who can not fill out the voter registration form!

I think the Afganistan election will have gone better than ours here this time. In Afganistan, they used donkeys to transport ballots from the polling stations to the counting stations. Here, we are going to have alot of donkeys voting.

Wait until some Dem a@@hole attorney sues a county for tossing a provisional ballot or two or hundreds, because of those people not being registered to vote. The attorneys will say at least the voter made an effort to vote and that should be sufficient. Next year there will be push by the dems to allow same day registration nationwide. If you can't take the time to register beforehand, please do not bother voting. Oh, sorry, I don't mean to intimidate or disenfranchise anyone.

The "Rats" are going to do everything in their power to steal this election. They don't care about the future of our great Republic, all they care about is regaining power.

No, it's not.

Please don't be easily swayed by dem tantrums. Do you see a mess?

No. You see dems going to court and getting kicked out all over the country.

That's not a mess.

You know you only have to register once in your town to vote. What is the big issue?
It would seem to me that if you are that much of a dope that you can not get it together to register...sorry buddy.

I have never had a problem voting, registering to vote, etc...
Maybe there should be a puzzle that you need to solve before you are allowed to vote. Its a jigsaw puzzle of a kitten. Once you solve it, you can vote?

Where, in the constitution, does it say there will be early voting and how many polling sites will be open?

"Maybe there should be a puzzle that you need to solve before you are allowed to vote."

How about naming your senators and congressman. That should be easy enough. Oh yea, we are talking about people who do not even know what polling place to show up at.
