By Steve Keating ST LOUIS (Reuters) - Boston Red Sox fans awoke on Wednesday with their impossible dream on the brink of becoming a reality.
The Red Sox will step onto Busch Stadium field tonight under a lunar eclipse needing one more victory over the St Louis cardinals to clinch their first World Series title since 1918 and put to rest forever the "Curse of the Bambino."
Watch out for the skydiver.
8-0 winning streak, one more game Sox, one more game!

What will they do if they blow the next four games?
9-4 Sox. Lowe's gonna give up 3, but the Sox bats are gonna fly...
I don't have my champagne (er, sparkling white wine...I don't buy French) on ice yet....but I've got a nice bottle of Middleton's Very Rare Irish whiskey with my name all over it.
I wonder if any world series in history was won on the day of a lunar eclipse. If not, it would be only fitting for the Sox to win tonight. The powerof the curse falls to the lunar eclipse.
Shrug their shoulders and say, "Hey, it's the Sox."
If he can't get some of the top players in baseball motivated to win the Series, what good is getting there?
"What will they do if they blow the next four games?"
Curse the Babe.
While there would be an incedible amount of irony in that, I really want Boston to win so the angst can end.
It can happen :)
Hopefully they will lose for no other reason than JFnK is from the same liberal craphole as them.
Hey, quit bitchin'! At least you're not an Astros fan; you team DID make it to the series.
I believe it would be a great moment for Buck's and a great moment for the fans.
Any thoughts from the die hard Sox fans in Boston on that?
(I should say that I am also a Dodger fan and Billy Buckner was a fav of mine when he was with the Dodgers)
It's going to be an uphill battle, but wouldn't it be beautiful if the Curse is confirmed as being so strong that the Cards come back and win 4 straight, so strong that the only reason the Red Sox won the first threee games is so that their hearts can be ripped out of their chests by coming this close and losing.
Never should have traded the Babe. May the curse last another 100 years.
I guess that would convince all the sceptics that there really is a Curse.
But it ain't...gonna...happen. What are the odds on 2 different teams coming back from being down 3-0...CONSECUTIVELY in the same post season? Ain't...gonna...happen.
If (I can't say "when" either, LOL) they win this, they can exhume Babe Ruth himself, duct tape a ball into his hand, and throw HIM over the plate for all I care.
That could be the "official" end of the curse. Good idea, the guy has suffered enough.
