Heard a radio appeal by mayor Kwame Kilpatrick urging citizens to vote. He said that even if you have been convicted of a felony, you can vote as long as you are not in prison. Weird message. Can this be legal? They are hoping to match Saddam's 100% of the vote in Wayne County to counter the 99% Republican rest of our great Great Lake state.
It's legal in some states.
This is way too sick!!!
As much as I don't care for her personally I am going to use a quote from Cher...
Nothing suprises me anymore and everything shocks me.
I guess its OK......they allowed the dead to vote for Gore in last election.
I hate this guy.... ex footbal player who has about thirty bodyguards...
somehow I don't think this the "freedom" our founding fathers envisioned.
Yeah I'm sure voting is on a felons to do list LOL!!
I live in Ohio and as long as a felon is not in jail and not on parol, it is legal for them to vote. It is on the Secretary of State, Ken Blackwell's site. Therefore, it could be legal.
Cobra
Legal in a fair number of states. As soon as you've done your time your voting rights are automatically restored.
Whats the difference? They were allowing blacks in Detroit to vote even if they were NOT registered, simply by signing an affidavit before they voted!
Nothing new in Detroit Michigan, but, they have a surprise coming this year. Everyone fails to remember Northern Michigan, and the U.P (Upper-Peninsula) who will all come out for Bush, and wipe away any threat from Detroit. This is why Michigan is in play, and the Democrats keep scratching their heads!
In New Jersey, Trenton assemblywoman Bonnie Watson-Coleman is the point woman for the felons-should-vote campaign. Bonnie has a personal interest in this because her sons were locked up for assault.
I don't, for the life of me, understand why people with kids in prison or who have gone through bankruptcy or other indicators of failure in life think they should run for political office and why other people vote for them.
So, remember Bonnie Watson-Coleman, New Jersey advocate for felon voting, has two sons in prison. Did I mention that Bonnie Watson-Coleman, who has two sons in prison, is a Democrat? Did I need to?
