MAN TRIES TO RUN OVER KATHERINE HARRIS!
Newsmax ^ | 10/27/04

A Sarasota man was arrested on an aggravated assault charge Wednesday after he was accused of trying to run down U.S. Rep. Katherine Harris and a group of supporters with his car.

A silver Cadillac sped toward the group at a Sarasota intersection Tuesday evening, then swerved at the last minute before driving off, according to police.

Witnesses gave the car's license plate number to police, and they tracked it to Barry M. Seltzer, 46.

He came to the police station Wednesday and complained to officers that Harris' supporters had impeded traffic.

"I intimidated them with my car," Seltzer told police.

He was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. A call for comment to Harris' campaign secretary was not immediately returned.

Harris, a Sarasota Republican, is seeking a second congressional term after serving as Florida's secretary of state during the protracted 2000 presidential recount.

Since it's not being reported, I'll say it: "Another liberal gone over the edge."

Too bad someone with a Florida CCW didn't shoot this man when the opportunity presented itself.

Probably would have saved about 100 democrat votes (1 real + 99 fraud).

Would it be shocking for the MSM to report this as an attempt by Harris and her supporters to prevent the driver from having freedom of "speech"?

In that district? It's just as likely to be a crabby Libertarian.

good heavens. florida is dangerous place for republicans this year. I think the dem leadership -- dean, gore, kennedy, and kerry -- deserve to be exposed as the instigators of dem violence against republicans this year. In trying to excite their base with ridiculous and overheated rhetoric, they have incited violence against republicans.

we will see more and more of this as the election draws nearer.

It could be a Libertarian. Of course we know that liberals are more likely and prone to violence since there is a void of common sense there.

A "Red Diaper Doper Baby" in touch with his "inner Marx".

Seltzer needs to be indicted and tried on however many counts of assault with a deadly weapon as there were people he tried to run down. If/when he is convicted, the judge needs to sentence him to the maximum on each count and give him consecutive rather than concurrent sentences.

Maybe the Dept of Homeland Security should consider adding a mild sedative to public water supplies in FL for the next week. These people are just a little too freaky right now.

This is just a scaled down version of what we can expect next Tuesday. This week? A DemocRAT domestic terrorist tries to run over a Republican Congresswoman and her supporters. Next week? DemocRATs on a national scale will attempt to run over the Constitution and our electoral process.

You see? This was just a practice run, which is why the great Florida statesman Barry M. Seltzer (laugh-choke-gag) swerved at the last minute.

Next week?

They won't swerve.

He threatened an elected official with his antics.

He should be brought up on Federal charges.
