Westin Blasts Opinion in Media

ABC News President David Westin warned against the proliferation of opinion commentary in the news media at the Institute of Politics’ John F. Kennedy Jr. Forum yesterday night. “The more time we express our opinions, the less time we have to talk about the facts,” Westin said. “Unfortunately, opinion is driving out facts too often in most of what we see on television today.”

Translation: "opinion" = Fox/talk radio = CONSERVATIVE opinion

He wants to suppress any "opinion" which questions the accuracy of Rather/Brokaw/Jennings. He longs for the days when a liberal like Croncite would say "And that's the way it is," and no one could question whether that's the way it is.

Notice he places "part" of the blame on the alternative media on the Internet, as if the MSM were not biased before the bloggers came along. The fact is, they are the reason it has finally been exposed and they can no longer claim that they are fair and impartial and continue to do hatchet jobs like the explosives deal. They are getting desperate because they have been sacked at every turn.
