Bush-Cheney '04 Launches New Television Advertisement, "Whatever It Takes"

ARLINGTON, VA -- Today, Bush-Cheney '04 announced the release of the campaign's newest television advertisement, "Whatever It Takes." The ad features the President discussing his resolve to win the War on Terror.

Script For "Whatever It Takes"

President Bush:
These four years have brought moments I could not foresee and will not forget.

I’ve learned first hand that ordering Americans into battle is the hardest decision, even when it is right. I have returned the salute of wounded soldiers who say they were just doing their job.

I have held the children of the fallen who are told their dad or mom is a hero but would rather just have their mom or dad.

I’ve met with the parents and wives and husbands who have received a folded flag. And in those military families, I have seen the character of a great nation.

Because of your service and sacrifice, we are defeating the terrorists where they live and plan and you’re making America safer.

I will never relent in defending America, whatever it takes.

President Bush:
I’m George W. Bush and I approve this message.

I didn't know what a double entendre was until the Bill Clinton presidency.

Either the Bush Campaign or the Swifties need to run an ad showing sKerry's picture in that Vietnamese War Museum with a voice saying something to the effect that:

"John sKerry has told you about all of the honors and awards he got while he served in Vietnam. But there is one honor he earned that he has not told you about. That honor is having his picture hanging in a War Museum in Communist Vietnam as a war hero. Do we really want a Communist war hero as our president?"

Anyone ever notice how emotional he is when talking about our fallen soldiers. No matter how often he says it, he is clearly almost in tears.

Someone how cares!! is who we need.

I am not sure Kerry can even have a real emotion. ( unless its in his talking points )

The only thing I can think of is that Rove's focus groups have shown that this stuff is a winner over Kerry's shrill attacks and they are betting on stuff like this to carry the day.

Well geeze, what do you think?

Kerry has put forth exactly nothing as a reason to vote FOR him. He has Monday morning quarterbacked the military in Afghanistan and Iraq. He has made vague promises that cannot be kept.

But most of all he has whined and complained.

1st--Ashley's Story
2nd--Wolves
3rd--Whatever it takes
Next--???

This is soooo smart.

Remind Americans what they felt in the days/months/years after 9/11.

Ashley reminds us of the loss.
Wolves remind us of the continuing threat.
"Whatever it takes"---evokes the feeling that this president will keep us safe.

I know, I'm just trying to explain why Rove is sitting on his hands regarding the NYT/CBS lies.

Apparently he has calculated that none of that stuff matters and not to get caught up in the fray and ads like this are winners in the end.

I don't know what the best strategy here is, but it appears that Rove's strategy is to dismiss this story as a dud, offering evidence to support this view.

He is backed up by the simple fact that no one knows when the stuff disappeared, and it was definitely not seen by U.S. troops in April 2003. All the facts are on our side.

If the GOP jumped up and issued frantic denials, it would look like the story is important. Roves strategy seems to let the story die slowly of a thousand cuts.

Bush still needs to go out and squash this 'missing weapons' story with cold hard facts. He's yet to do that.

Call me chicken-little if you want, but if Bush doesn't aggressively get ahead of this issue and continues to let Kerry bash him over the head with it, we'll be talking about President-elect Kerry a week from now...

Yep I am so glad I have "The Pitch" video on tape. I cry every time I watch it. I do not know how after seeing that video someone could not vote for GWB. I wish the campaign had enough $$$ to buy TV time Monday night and show that video. IF by some chance W does not pull this win out I do not think I could ever watch "The Pitch" again-it's that good!
