The coalition says the effort is non-partisan, but because the group is targeting minority neighborhoods and those with historically low voter turnout - overwhelmingly Democratic areas - Republican operatives are crying foul amid the highly charged political atmosphere in the state.

This is the single most outrageous thing I have seen yet from Democrats and the education union establishment to steal the state of Wisconsin for Kerry......Tell everyone you know about how the rats are acting. These kids were taken out of some of the worst performing schools in the state to campaign for Kerry/Edwards under the guise of getting out the vote. I am speechless........

Did they try canvassing Lambert Field?

This is crazy!!! These kids should be in school being taught by their teachers... what are they learning from this experience?? How to commit voter fraud??

I've seen some dirty tricks this year in Wisconsin! My husband is in a union and they were outside his office building yesterday rallying support for Kerry. They were handing out fliers and telling people to vote for Kerry.

As long as the children are just saying, "Register and vote," and are not saying who anyone should vote for then I have no problem with this.

I say, "Get the children involved in the political process early and often."

On the other hand, if they are being told who to vote for and being told to tell the others they canvass who to vote for then the people running the program need to be in prison.

Good grief, Milwaukee Public School students can barely read or write by the time they finish high school. Yet, the teachers and Democrats yank them out of class to go door to door for John Kerry. The absentee rate in most MPS schools is bad enough on a regular school day.

These students should be in school and should not be wandering the streets on a school day. Let's hope one of these kids isn't run down by a car while roaming for Kerry.

Good Grief, don't they worry this isn't the safest thing for an eleven year old to be doing?

Until one of these kids knocks on the door of the next Jefry Dahmer. This kids have no place going door to door.

In Minnesota, the school system is run for the benefit of the teachers and administrators. Parents' input is not requested.

Last night I worked outside an Early Voting location holding a Bush/Cheney sign. A car load of 15 & 16 year olds working and getting paid.... 8.00 an hour for the Kerry campaign came out and were yelling lies about President Bush and screaming at people to vote for Kerry.

I told them I too was young once and if they are unable to vote they should not be telling others how to vote. These were pimple faced radical moveon.org hate filled kids, who know nothing about reality.

How dumb and irresponsible can you get? I hope the Wisconsin Citizen Action Fund (whoever they may be) has a good liability lawyer. Of course, Madison, City of Insensate Evil, is tied up in this.

Great timing on this one -- just one day after the announcement that the MPS taxt levy will go up over 13%. Must be needed to fund the next "civics lesson" on cigarettes for votes.

If these kids are not accompanied or supervised by an adult, wouldn't this be considered "Child Endangerment"?

Just a thought.

Jack.

That's how I would consider it. They don't even let the kids go door to door by themselves around here for all those school sales. And I consider our area "safe".

when concealed carry reform was is it's 7th and final year of heated debate here, for their civics class, the kids were
brought in to wear million moms stickers during one of the legislative debates.
not exactly bi-partisan observation of the process .
