Democrats file 9 suits in Florida
The Washington Times ^ | October 27 | Jerry Seper

Democrats in Florida already are pursuing nine election-related lawsuits, accusing state election officials of conspiring to disenfranchise minority voters. Led by the Florida Democratic Party, the People for the American Way, the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees and the AFL-CIO, the lawsuits target, among others, Florida Secretary of State Glenda Hood, who was appointed by Republican Gov. Jeb Bush, President Bush's brother. The suits say Republican officials refused to count provisional ballots, improperly disqualified incomplete voter registrations, established overly restrictive rules to disproportionately hurt minority voters and actively sought to disenfranchise blacks. Matt Miller, a spokesman for the Kerry campaign, said Republicans are "trying to scare people away from the polls."

For every vote they get from demagoguery like this, they will lose 10 others, IMO.

Seems they are trying to get every election law in Florida thrown out....especially those that will allow them to cheat their tails off.

Some of the suits will be tossed rather quickly....they will be seen for what they are....stupid.

A judge ruled earlier today that the check box rule is staying and those registrations that do not have the citizenship box checked are out.

I hope I'm right but I think this is going to backfire on the Dem's. People don't want lawsuits like the last time.

If people are too stupid or too lazy to fill out the forms, why are the Dimwits making excuses for them. If you don't follow the rules, you don't vote.

In my opinion if you can't check a simple box that states you are a citizen, there is one of two things going on....

1. You're not a citizen and should not be allowed to vote

2. You're completely stupid and therefore should not be allowed to vote.

If this chaos is allowed to continue in Florida, we may be headed towards a Bannana Republic.

I see this coming back to haunt the democrats. People will see them as trying to cheat and play outside the law. They will shoot themselves in the foot with the citizen check box rule lawsuit. People will see them for what they are....thieves.

I read an interesting article yesterday (can't remember where) about the "Landslide Theory".

It suggested that by publicizing these teams of lawyers that the DNC are already using the question every law and draw out the election the democrats may unknowingly be pushing a Bush landslide.

The theory was that average Joe America, who might be tempted to cast a vote for Kerry, (not one of the ABB crowd, but a regular Dem), might see Bush is slightly ahead, and fearing a repeat of 2000 decide to vote for Bush to try to avoid the contentious nature of the 2000 election, thus handing Bush a landslide so that Kerry won't be able to pull off the court challenges.

Interesting theory...I like it, LOL!

Good theory. As Hugh Hewitt says, "If it ain't close, they can't cheat."

Just a few short days stand between us and the election. If the activities taking place in battleground states are any indication, our opponents plan a long, bitter, and vicious fight. Let me share just a sample of what is going on across the country today, 6 days before you vote. And let me tell you what else you may expect to see.

We have already seen 35 lawsuits filed in 17 states - some before the first ballot was even cast. So far, the Democrats have failed in their attempts to win this election in the courts, rather than the ballot box.

Our offices have been broken into, vandalized, and robbed. Gun shots have pierced the doors and windows of several offices. Fortunately, no one was hurt in those attacks, but unfortunately, when union members stormed an office in Florida, a volunteer's arm was broken.

We do not want to go through another election where the outcome is held hostage by the courts and those who were defeated at the polls try to reverse the outcome through legal wrangling and endless litigation.

We want the people's will, not the will of high-powered trial lawyers, to determine the President.

So THIS was the plan all along. If the vote didn't go Kerry's way, sic the lawyers on the State of Florida officials. DemocRATS are despicable

Americans are gonna get real tired of this. Their jumping the gun like this only adds to the feeling that they tried to steal the last election when they couldn't win it outright.

If this chaos is allowed to continue in Florida, we may be headed towards a Bannana Republic.

In which case, the Democrats need to think long and hard about pushing this thing to a head.

Because a.) the military is on our side and b.) the only guys on their side who have guns are the dope dealers.
