Um, the consequences of a Kerry victory will be felt forever. I hope the libertarians become a viable 3rd party by 2008 in order to curb this big government trend.

The problem third parties have is winner take all elections.
Well that's only one of the problems they have.
How long have the Libertarians been around? How many state wide election (in whatever state) have they won? How many state legislators, mayors of major/mior cities, school boards...etc have they won?

I think the Libertarians and Constitutionalists should hold their 'conventions' a year early and nominate someone to enter into the GOP primary and then support whomever wins the primary in November.

The libertarians ceased to be a meaningful force in American politics when they were swamped by the dope-smoking/homosexual "marriers" crowd.

No offense but who the hell are the Libertarians?? What makes them qualified to run our country?? Just because they champion small government does not qualify them to run everything else. We all need to face the fact that our government will always be big. When President Bush ran he told everybody what he was going to do. He did not hide the fact he wanted to add prescription drugs to Medicare, he did not hide the fact he was going to put money into education, he did not hide the fact he was going to spend money to make America better.

I do no like big government but I realize that it is impossible to shrink it to what the Libertarians want. The trick is to slow the growth of the Govt. Bush as grown the government faster than any modern President, but he also had 911: Lets not forget how WE ALL felt after that attack. America has never been hit like that on our homeland and the economic damage was severe. Without 911, stock market bubble bursting, corporate scandals our economy would have brought in more tax revenues and we probably wouldn't even be talking about this.

The Libertarians have consistently LOST voters and are closing in on their "death".Since they are for open borders, the legalization of prostitution and all illegal substances, and a host of other such loony things, they will NEVER become viable...not EVER!
