ABC News reported Tuesday that polling of people who have already voted shows George Bush with the lead over John Kerry by a significant margin, 51% to 47%.
The network reports that this early voting represents 1 in every ten voters who will likely vote through Election Day.
But the poll results "doesn't mean Bush is 'winning' the absentee vote; the difference is within sampling tolerances. And among all likely voters, including those waiting for Election Day, the race is essentially tied: Forty-nine percent support Kerry and 48 percent Bush, with 1 percent for Ralph Nader in interviews Friday through Monday."
ABC's early voting polls also don't show results for key battleground states like Florida and Ohio. Democrats are already saying privately that results in key states look good for Kerry.
Ping!
"Democrats are already saying privately that results in key states look good for Kerry."
This isn't good news.
What are the list of states doing early voting..
I know Texas is, so this not be outrageous great news.
Florida has early voting.
You don't believe them, do you? They make statements all the time without substantiation.
Of course it does!
ITs not news at all, one way or the other. The sample size is about 150 voters. It is meaningless garbage and for democrats to say that battlegorund states look good is laughable. The sample size per state would be about 3.

My Statistics Professor would have thrown me out if I had made the first statement when the margin of error ruled it out. I knew two guys who had their dissertations rejected over that.
The correct statement is there is no measurable difference.
NC does.
Agreed. See my post #9.
Bad news.. I think Tennessee does.
This is not a good news.
If Tennessee, North Carolina, Texas, Florida are making up the early voting (No Blue States), and Bush is only up 4, our early voting effort sucks.
What would they say? Bush is winning?
Take with a grain of salt.
AZ too
Of course this is ABC News. Their idea of a "margin of error" is probably sKerry +5, Bush -5. They still point out at every possible opportunity that Bush "was selected" in 2000 by five "conservative" justices.
oh please--it's nothing... it's not any news... or did you forget to add a *sarcasm* to your post?
I'm waiting for the poll that includes dead people - and is weighted for people that intend to vote more than once.
I've noticed here in NC, the majority of early voters are unemployed & retired. Folks who are working don't have time to vote early. They can get off on 11/2 though.
You should ask Mayor Daley in Chicago, he coordinates all of that activity.
Just hope this aint a decoy, launched in order to convince Bush supporters to be complacent and back off.
I wouldn't put it past the shi&meisters at ABC News to tweak the numbers, any numbers, if they thought it would create an advantage for the Kerry-holes.
