Who wants to place bets that about a week after the election, we'll see oil and gas prices plummet? Soros won't need to manipulate once Bush wins.

Gas will be below $1.40 by March, methinks.

duh... it's obvious to anyone with a brain that foreign investors are hoarding oil to influence elections.

China is stockpiling twice the oil they actually consume, for example... I bet they'll suddenly stop after election day.

Soros has vowed that if Bush wins, he will destroy our economy. Look for currency and commodity corners and shorts. He has teamed up with many, if not all, of the other hedge funds to do this and some states that hate us or want us weaker are also along for the ride.

The hedge fund part I know from a source in a major firm and the foreign states are a no-brainer.

"State of the Country" Satisfaction Rating
Most Recent: 2004 Oct 11-14
41% Satisfied
57% Dissatisfied<

Of that 57%, I would bet 1/2 are people who think this country is morally heading into the sewer and not because of who is in the White House. However, Gallup is implying that 57% think Bush is taking the country in the wrong direction. If that was true, Kerry would be polling well over 50% in every single poll.

Actually Soros needs to have an "accident" or suddenly stoke out.

"Can't something be done about him? Ban him from markets or whatever"

Pass a confiscatory tax bill that affects ONLY people in Soro's wealth category. Then sunset it, so that after Soros is put out of business, no one else can be railroaded.

;)

I am hoping that he will run afoul of the SEC. From what I have read, he skirts the edge of legality

For years, I have heard people say that we Americans have gotten soft. Since 911, expats have complained that Americans didn't have to sacrifice anything for the WOT or the battles of Afghanistan and Iraq. Maybe the grief that Soros is unleashing/plans to unleash on us will serve to unify and strengthen us.

All the billionaires must be just furious. They are not used to putting a load of money into something with no return. Maybe they will stop financing the left.

When you hear about new restrictions being put on the hedge funds and that they must disclose more to the regulators, that independent currency traders were busted (last summer) for irregularities, and that margins for commodity trades are being increased, those are all aimed at Soros.

Soros has set things up so that his children (and perhaps his wife) all manage portions of the fund empire. They will continue funding the NGOs/left. IMO, the Feds need to investigate the so-called charities, NGOs and the various foundations. I think those sorts of disclosure laws would pass.

As much control as Soros and his partners have, as far as leverage and commodity and currency shorts go, the influence of states is also important and has to be approached more obliquely. China may be hoarding fuel, for example.

OTOH, I have also read here, from those who are more knowledgeable about these markets, that these sorts of attempts to control commodity prices always do unwind. We were jewelers when the Hunts cornered the silver market, which influenced gold, as well and IIRC, had some effect on other commodities. It hurt all the small people who use these commodities. Eventually, people took profits. I gather there are always smaller traders who go along for the run-up, but they bail faster than the big guys do and when that happens, it becomes a rush for the exits as people take profits.

IF Americans can hang tough, perhaps the manipulators will cease the economic terrorism. It is, IMO, important to explain to people who are not news junkies just who Soros is and what he intends to accomplish and how. I have been impressed so far with just how many people (not enough) DO know about him and his manipulations/goals.

But this man is intent on changing the entire world. My personal nightmare is that if he doesn't get his way with one tactic, he will just switch to another. He is like a comic-book villain, in my view. I worry he will finance the purchase of a nuke for one or another group that hates America, for example. Last winter, one edition of National Geographic had a cover story on Patagonia. Inside, in the copy, it mentioned that Soros and others (Cher was one, IIRC) have purchased estates in Patagonia. My paranoid thought was that if there was a nuclear exchange in the Northern Hemisphere, Patagonia might be a place safe from fallout.

Just like with the Islamonazis, I don't want to spend my life shaking in my boots over what this or that evil person might do. I think at some point, you have to take the things you cannot control and just turn them over to God. We will all have to do what we can, even if all we can do is pull up our socks and go on, regardless of what anyone is trying to do to coerce us.

Thank you for the informative post. Have the regulations you mentioned come into force?

Yes, Soros does seem intent on making the world over in HIS image -- which would mean, by definition, he would be a sort of anti-Christ. [This is an analogy, apt I think -- not a prophesy.]

AFAIK, some have and the others are pending or in review prior to being enacted. IIRC, these are regulations and do not need to voted on.

I agree about the Anti-Christ, except Soros has no charisma.
To me, he is Dr Evil. He is the comic book villian come to life.
