October Surprise Foiled
Neal Nuze ^ | 10/26/04 | Neal Boortz

OK .. I GET A BIT "I TOLD YOU SO TODAY"

Yesterday the news broke about 380 tons of explosives that disappeared in Iraq. The International Atomic Energy Agency was raising quite a fuss over this, as was the American mainstream media. Boy oh boy, did the media love this story. After all, it really looked bad for Bush, didn't it? ABC and CBS hammered the story, as did MSNBC. But CNN? Wow! Did CNN love this story. They covered it at least 50 times yesterday.

Then, of course, we had the Kerry campaign jumping on the story. The Poodle called it one of the greatest blunders of Iraq. He slammed Bush for, as he put it, "failing to guard" the stockpile of explosives.

In yesterday's Nealz Nuze I wrote the following:

The IAEA says that they were monitoring the explosives prior to the war. Now they're gone. The IAEA doesn't know when they disappeared. They can't say that Saddam didn't remove them before the American invasion. They can't say that Saddam's soldiers didn't move them to another location after the invasion began. They just don't know.

Oh, you should have seen the email. I was a Bush crony. I was making weak excuses for Bush's failures in Iraq. I didn't do my homework. I was lying. Blah blah blah.

Well ... here's your "I told you so."

Last night we get a report on NBC news that the explosives were already missing when U.S. troops arrived at the storage location on April 10, 2003. The last time the IAEA saw the explosives was three months earlier in January of 2003. There is no way to know just when the explosives were removed. Sometime after the IAEA saw them in January and before American troops got there in April. Obviously this isn't a case of Bush failing to "guard" the explosives. By the time our troops got there they weren't there to guard. In other words, nobody failed to guard anything and there was nothing we could have done about it. They were gone when we got there.

Well .. .hold on. There is something we could have done about it. We could have invaded earlier! Get in there before the Iraqis had a chance to hide the explosives! Is that what the Kerry supporters are saying we should have done?

This was a "get Bush" story from the beginning. There have been some problems between the Bush White House and the head of the IAEA. This was supposed to be the "October Surprise." Drudge is reporting this morning that CBS was hoping to run with this story on Sunday's 60 Minutes ... two days before the election. The New York Times beat them to the punch ... and, unfortunately for the designs of the leftist press, in time for the truth to come out.

This was a blatant attempt by the U.N. to influence our election. Time to kick the U.N. out of the U.S.

Now that the public knows that these news outlets are dedicated to a one party system, what should we do with them after the Democrats loose this time?

They are sacrificing security for one party. Something needs to be done.

There is no way to know just when the explosives were removed.

I distinctly remember hearing media reports from Iraq in the opening phase of the invasion about long convoys of heavy trucks heading from Baghdad to the Syrian border. I haven't heard anything, or very little anyway, about that since early in the war. I still believe Syria has most of Saddam's munitions, including WMD, hidden somewhere in that country.

Jamie Rubin was saying on Fox and Friends that the problem was we did not send in enough troops. Then, he was arguing that Bush should have overrode his commander on the ground. I mean these guys are desperate. And, the more they talk about insufficient troops, the more it sounds like the Demos would consider a draft.

Howard Wolfson and Jamie Reuben were on Fox and Friends this morning bobbing and weaving.

Chad "Chucky" Clanton would have continued to act as if the story were true and Lawrence O'Donnell would have screamed "liar" for 3 minutes. They sent out the wrong crew.

Any suggestions? The suggestions I have can't be posted lest the FBI come and arrest me. Not that I would personally do anything (disclaimer) but I can at least use my imagination can't I? ;-]

"Obviously this isn't a case of Bush failing to "guard" the explosives. By the time our troops got there they weren't there to guard."

Another CLASSIC case of guilt by accusation. The truth didn't matter, only the accusation. And once again, the MSM jackals run full tilt with the story, without adequate corroboration, as long as they had any chance of smearing President Bush. The decades long practice of MSM lies, smears, and propaganda against Republicans continues.

The old change the subject play. Rubin is a smooth one. The casual listener may not have noticed except for the Fox and Friends crew pounding on them.

Actually, the story was on the front page of the Times yesterday, and today there is no mention of the story or the NBC findings...

Re: CBS ignoring the NBC story--

Sounds like NBC is ignoring the NBC story! Based on that previous post about today's Today show, Tim Russert is still referring to the missing weapons as an embarrassment. No mention of the discovery that they were missing *before* the US got there.

Speaking of surprises, if I were Rove and Gillespie I think I would send out some subtle warnings to the Kerry people that they will be unleashing some dirt of their own if the Dems have any dirty tricks up their sleeves in the next 5 days.

After Pat B. read the this won't happen again letter on air at the end of Scarborough last night, I think O'Donnell will lay low. I don't think he can come out swinging so soon after his wrist slap.

Whoops, Democrat media caught with political pants down, Clinton style!

With only a week to go before the election liberal media provides bogus report to Democrat’s delight.
More than outrage, American citizens are awakening this morning to an emotion not yet described. Fearfully stated, never during a national election season has such deception and propaganda been purposely perpetrated on American citizens. It is apparent that media sources both large and small, all across the nation decided to take the election’s outcome into their own hands through any means possible. With urgency, they placed an unsubstantiated story into the mix, hope against hope it would make a difference in seeing to the demise of President Bush.

Without waiting for the CBS’s 60 Minute program to break the tale on October 31, New York Times provided bogus story for desperate Democrats. John F. Kerry and former President Clinton pompously strolled onto the stage yesterday, arrogantly informing their supporters that under President Bush’s watch a huge cache of explosives vanished from site in Iraq. The problem, his words were false, the cache had vanished from site before troops arrived. How do we know this? NBC embedded reporters that arrived on the scene with US troops during the war found no cache of explosives as described.

Just when is a lie not a lie? How perfect that Clinton’s appearance and this national lie would arrive on the same day.

Will we allow Democrats and their national media to steal our vote and voice? Please consider this unprecedented fraud a tool of destruction and vote against it with great gusto. The Democrats with support of the media must not be the victor in this game of deceit.

"CBS is ignoring the NBC story."

THIS FREAKIN NETWORKS ARE CORRUPT!!!!

My God, they all run this story relentlessly all day!!!! Then when I heard on Rush that this was very old news, I was like WTF! These networks have got to know this.
So it finally starts getting out how distorted this news is, and they are OBVIOUSLY (in their corrupt bias) going to ignor it.

I'm done believing the Mass Media has a simple difference in political perspective. There is no innocent mistakes here. I have seen enough now that I firmly believe that these networks are intently corrupting the political affairs of our nation.

Well don't forget, it's the "seriousness of the allegations" don-cha know. Kinda reminds me of Little Juan Williams on FNS talking about how Bush has to "respond" to CBS' made-up National Guard allegations.

"...if i were Bush I would hang this goose around Kerry as evidence of his lies and as evidence of saying and doing anything to get elected."

If this gets as big as CBS memo-gate, anything Kerry says about Bush now will be discredited. Bush would be October surprise proof!
