Our dem friends have a new ad out...http://www.digbysblog.blogspot.com/
The new line of attack came as an independent liberal group began airing a new ad in which an elderly couple says, "George Bush should take his NASCAR-loving, tobacco-chewing, trailer-park-living, redneck freak show back to Texas, where it belongs."
Well, I fit it pretty well, except I gave up Copenhagen 2 weeks ago. And, I don't live in a trailer anymore.
Not surprising at all. The Democrats have declared war on rural america for years. Molon Labe
"but I doubt even they would sink to the level of making fun of people who died in a plane crash.."
Well, that was the case until they sunk to the level of turning the memorial service for people who died in a plane crash into a screaming, hatred-spewing political rally...
oh, please let them show this in Florida. Please, please, please...
Awww geez, we gots more'n that to worry 'bout. Why heck, I'm just a wonderin if'n I should lets my 12 year old daughter Daisy May to smoke at the supper table in front of her children.
Wasn't NASCAR born in the Carolina's and is HQ'd in Florida???
Swing states with Nascar tracks:
Daytona International Speedway
Homestead Miami Speedway
Mansfield Motorsports Speedway (Truck Series): Mansfield, Ohio
Michigan International Speedway
The Milwaukee Mile (Been racing their since 1903.)
Nazareth Speedway (Busch Series) Nazareth, Pennsylvania
New Hampshire International Speedway
Pocono Raceway, Long Pond, PA.
Sheesh, Tobacco chewers will be offended. People who live in trailors will be offended, and millions of Nascar fans will be offended. And the funny thing is these groups are not all one in the same.
Miss the point of the ad. For years Republicans were portrayed as the little top hatted guy in the Monopoly game. The party of fat cats. The ad seeks to change that stereotype to the party of the educationally and financially disadvantaged.
Oh yeah, for the record, movie stars don't live in those trailers while filming. They live in very nice hotels. Those $300,000 trailers are provided as dressing rooms and points of privacy while on the set.
It isn't a real ad, it is sarcasm by some lefty, go read the link.
ping
And this is supposed to play well in in "fly-over" country?! Absolutely hysterical!
Nice list!
If every NASCAR fan in each of these states sees this ad one time, Bush will win in a landslide.
I wish Football Fans For Truth was as well-funded as Moveon.org. This sports stuff is his achilles heel.
I go Goose Hunting every year.
I am NRA.
and I vote.
Actually, since the Hendrick racing team lost several members in an airplane crash over the weekend .. I'd say this ad will cause more backlash than it will votes for Kerry.
Probably not. But Dems don't find any jokes about people funny, unless they're in their cross hairs, like Republicans and Christians. Then it's not only tolerated, but encouraged.
Hmmmm, I like all kinds of autoracing, except NASCAR (Sportscar racing, mostly). I'm still voting for President Bush.
What ever happened to the *bang_list? Sure used to be interesting.
Shoot, you've got Cadillacs on cinder blocks AND whitewall tire planters? Boy-howdy, you're living high on the hog.
My own sister has only a Mazda and a (shudder) Datsun on blocks at her place. She even had to build her flower planters out of rocks! She's trying to hide her shame, though, by calling her hand-built rock planters a "rock garden".
