George W. Bush is a religious fanatic, it's said. He isn't. The man has never admitted making mistakes, critics claim. That's false. He has been strident in his dealings with Democrats, it's alleged. No, the Democrats have been strident in their dealings with him. This president has his faults, but the critics have exaggerated them to the point that some in the country are reportedly seeing therapists for fear Bush will be re-elected.
I don't question that they should get help, if in fact there's a way of restoring people to common sense following a deluge of propagandistic twaddle. But their trepidations should never be confused with sober reactions to reality. Where Bush is bad, he is not so bad as alleged, and John Kerry is mostly worse, an opportunist whose own views are so slippery that just about the time you think you have a grip on one it has squirted out of sight and a new view is being dangled before your eyes.
The people who call Bush a religious nut, for instance, cannot cite any words to verify the claim. My guess is that they are largely ignorant about what their similarly religious neighbors are like - thoroughly decent people who harbor no theocracy-imposing plans. The critics certainly weren't listening when Bush said in the third debate that it's not instructions he receives from God when he prays. It's strength and calm, which is not so worrisome a thing for a war-time president to have.
Careful listeners in that third debate also found Bush agreeing that he has likely made mistakes.

Those people should go read It's A Matter of Character. It's the single best book about Bush I've read. And I think I've read them all.
ANd it's not a gushy book but filled with examples of his character.
breaks your (mine)heart and their bank account - well that is what happens when hate is more powerful than having security from a strong leader. These crazy people would blame the firemen or police that died in the tower - but they know that is stupid - so because their party says so, they will blame GWB who had taken over for their beloved pervert.
To be honest, I think that Bush's character is what all the lefties are afraid of. Most everything is black and white in President Bush's world. The libs and the lefties worlds are shades of gray and in their worlds things can be talked to death. And then everything is fine. I don't get the Left at all.
What??
REally, I do think that his character is one of the things the Left is most afraid of. He is stubborn, won't admit mistakes (in their vernacular.) We view it as sticking by one's word, doing what he said he was going to do, sticking up for his (and America's) principles.
SO WHY DO WE STILL react to every little piece of tripe THEY SPOONFEED TO US?
We should know now, all MSM pieces are 10% truth, 90% hype.
I don't know; if you figure out how to stop, ping me, okay?
idiots, the people going and bashing Bush, not you Utah Girl
Actually, President Bush DID admit to making at least
three mistakes in making appointments, but he said he
didn't want to hurt anybody's feelings by telling about
it. (in the last debate)
They should seek therapy, they need it. If they think electing Sen. Kerry will keep them safer they are nuts.
The numb nuts Libs in NY would have themselves blown up again if it meant Kerry could be POTUS.
The idea around which liberalism coheres is that NOTHING actually matters but PR.They always think they can get credit for their second (third, fourth or fifth in the case of John Kerry) guess. Because they sail down the propaganda wind produced by journalism. In their world doing anything on any other principle than how it will look in the papers and on TV is crazy, even evil.
