KERRY SPOT
Jim Miklaszewski of NBC News pretty much dismantled the New York Times attack on behalf of Kerry today.
NBC News: Miklaszewski: April 10, 2003, only three weeks into the war, NBC News was embedded with troops from the Army's 101st Airborne as they temporarily take over the Al Qakaa weapons installation south of Baghdad. But these troops never found the nearly 380 tons of some of the most powerful conventional explosives, called HMX and RDX, which is now missing. The U.S. troops did find large stockpiles of more conventional weapons, but no HMX or RDX, so powerful less than a pound brought down Pan Am 103 in 1988, and can be used to trigger a nuclear weapon. In a letter this month, the Iraqi interim government told the International Atomic Energy Agency the high explosives were lost to theft and looting due to lack of security. Critics claim there were simply not enough U.S. troops to guard hundreds of weapons stockpiles, weapons now being used by insurgents and terrorists to wage a guerrilla war in Iraq. (NBCs Nightly News, 10/25/04)
If Jill Abramson, managing editor of the New York Times, had a shred of concern over her paper's reputation for getting the facts right never mind objectivity or fairness, she would be running the correction - or at least this blatantly contradictory information - in the giant headline font and above-the-fold location that today's story got. But I guess the interest in echoing the sentiments of Maureen Dowd is more important than getting it right at the Old Gray Lady.

Is this more proof that the UN way buying time for Saddam to move his weapons? Note that this story came from Gannett. The conservatives need to cancel all their subscriptions and let them feel the same pressures Sinclair did.

And Fox better be blasting this on their shows today like they were doing yesterday with the NYT smear. I am losing patience with their coverage in the past 10 days...
To: kittymyrib
Fox crew hammered it pretty good in the 7:00 hour - E.D. indignantly waving around today's NYT that had NO retraction or correction - she was pretty ticked at the NYT . . .

I remember the reports of truck convoy's moving across the Syrian border just before the war. I also believe that Libya was developing the WMD's for Saddam by proxy due to the inspections. When Kadafi saw the U.S. attack Saddam and go straight into Bagdad he knew it was all over and began to cover his tracks by declaring he is Nuclear free and handing over his program. Neither Kadafi or Saddam believed the U.S. would go into Bagdad with so many of the U.N. countries having been bought off and the sanctions beginning to fall apart. Saddam thought he was dealing with a John Kerry not a George Bush aka Ronald Reagan who did not need the worlds approval to act in our best interest. When Kadafi turned over his weapons program they found nuclear bomb building instruction written in Chinese so not only was Saddam buying these countries off they were helping in the effort to build the bomb. The material that may have been bought and stored in Iraq for what ever reason remained there instead of being shipped to Libya. What could not be taken to Libya was spirited out to countries like Syria and other rogue states for financial exchange. We already know there is a huge amount of cash that was transported to Syria from Iraq. Even Saddam in his little rat hole they found him in had $750,000 in cash on him and that was just pocket change. We as the general public will never see the entire picture such as the documents captured and people captured that lend many clues as to what was going on. I believe the list of countries on the take and working against us when all said and done will leave us with a real clear picture as to what the next NATO or U.N. of the willing will look like and that is a good thing because you should always know who your real enemies are like FRANCE!
That is my opinion.

Bush can turn this around and kill John Kerry and the left. Just use it to ruin CBS and the NY Slimes. That will do fatal damage to the Kerry lie machine.

What ever happened to "fact checking"?The word "lazy" comes to mind in the case of Sean and Brit. And both have staff to help them.

The want Democrats on their shows, so they walk on egg shells. However, to me the Democrats are panicking.

Yup,, IMOP , ENGLAND, AUS , and ISRAEL are really our true friends.
I just wish ( MOST AMERICANS ) will wake up before election day,, and see how much danger America will be if John ( The Traitor ) Kerry is elected.
As G Gorden Liddy said 2 weeks ago, " If John Kerry is elected, it will be a disaster for America "
take care my friend.

"Makes me wonder- there was a NY Times paper dumped in the middle of our roadway [maybe they only thought there was one house here] and someone had graciously added a bunch of beer cans as well. This area is semi-rural Republican FL and now that I think about it, no one around here reads the Times."
An "in-kind" contribution to the Kerry campaign from the NYT??? Ought to be reported.
To: Another Thought
That's a great nugget for Brit Hume considering those free NY Times.
