KERRY SPOT
Jim Miklaszewski of NBC News pretty much dismantled the New York Times attack on behalf of Kerry today.
NBC News: Miklaszewski: April 10, 2003, only three weeks into the war, NBC News was embedded with troops from the Army's 101st Airborne as they temporarily take over the Al Qakaa weapons installation south of Baghdad. But these troops never found the nearly 380 tons of some of the most powerful conventional explosives, called HMX and RDX, which is now missing. The U.S. troops did find large stockpiles of more conventional weapons, but no HMX or RDX, so powerful less than a pound brought down Pan Am 103 in 1988, and can be used to trigger a nuclear weapon. In a letter this month, the Iraqi interim government told the International Atomic Energy Agency the high explosives were lost to theft and looting due to lack of security. Critics claim there were simply not enough U.S. troops to guard hundreds of weapons stockpiles, weapons now being used by insurgents and terrorists to wage a guerrilla war in Iraq. (NBCs Nightly News, 10/25/04)
If Jill Abramson, managing editor of the New York Times, had a shred of concern over her paper's reputation for getting the facts right never mind objectivity or fairness, she would be running the correction - or at least this blatantly contradictory information - in the giant headline font and above-the-fold location that today's story got. But I guess the interest in echoing the sentiments of Maureen Dowd is more important than getting it right at the Old Gray Lady.
If you hear thunder, it's just Kerry's numbers plunging in the polls. LMAO!
Thats the Former King Kam yelling from Diamond Head.......NO JOHN KERRY!!!!
"Ass clowns, one and all."...
LOL!!!
Don't hold your breath that any of the MSM will make a deal out of this--it would make Kerry look like the fool he is and then what would they do!!! They couldn't possibly support BUSH!!!
My offering, just sent, follows. Boy, do I feel better now!
To the "reporters" and editorial staff,
May I just take this opportunity to say, your "news"paper is the most useless, in the tank, DNC spin machine, hack, rag I have ever had the misfortune to read. You ought to be hanging your collective heads in shame!
To dredge up a complete NON story, *(lest you think the American public is ignorant, we do know that nearly 300 thousand tons of ammo have already been destroyed over there, that another 200 thousand tons are scheduled for destruction by our and coalition troops, and that these particular bunkers were ALREADY EMPTY when our troops (God Bless them!) went in there. Further, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that, if the "Oil for Food" scam artists over at the UN and the IAEA had been even making a half-assed attempt at doing their jobs, Hussein wouldn't have had all these munitions in the first place! It also doesn't take a whole lot of intelligence to figure out that your paper and the Kerry campaign are colluding, as evidenced by his use of your "talking points" today, timed to coincide with your article, and with your delivery of copies of the paper to nonsubscribers in FL) make it above the fold, headline "news", and then, to add insult to injury, deliver free copies to residents of FL, just to make sure they didn't miss your overblown misinformation hit piece, all in a (criminal, BTW) attempt to influence a presidential election and take down a sitting president, is beyond the pale. The fact that he spends EVERY waking moment thinking about how to prevent another tragedy, like the one that happened in YOUR backyard, just reflects all the more badly on YOU. I don't know how you people can stand the sight of yourselves or each other. Having grown up in NY city, I thank the Good Lord every day that I am blessed to live in the South now, where people have a good relationship with honor and TRUTH!
You and your ilk have no business calling yourselves journalists. You are shills, and nothing more. You repulse me, you disgust me, you infuriate me, and I shall pray, from this day forward, that your rag meets its deserved fate - that being, that your readers will finally wake up to the fact that you are no more than an American Pravda, that you will lose your readership, that your hack paper will be forced to fold, and that you will all be out on your collective behinds, begging for a job from the only news company that tells the truth - FOX!
Sincerely, Laura Cantwell
I think Bush will pull and upset here in Hawaii.
Just heard Alan Colmes on his radio show say that he predicts that Bush will win!
Miklasewski (sp?) of NBC said the troops didn't find the explosives when they searched Al Qaqaa, but the AP, quoting the anonymous Pentagon official, said that we found them "intact" at Al QaQaa. So, we have certainly have an apparent conflict.
Before I celebrate too much, I just want to be SURE that the weapons were already gone when we first got there. From the reports I've read, it seems that the White House didn't dispute the Times report earlier today.
But now, it seems like that the White House people ARE jumping on the NBC report. I don't think they'd do that unless they were sure of their facts - i.e. the weapons were already gone.
Has there been official Pentagon confirmation that our guys thoroughly searched for these explosives when they first reached Al QaQaa and found them already missing? Either back in '03 or today? I'll feel better when I hear it from the Pentagon, and not an NBC Reporter. Then I will really be celebrating.
I fell out of my computer chair laughing so hard when I heard Rush say that Hawaii went "battleground" today. He also mentioned the Honolulu paper endorsed Bush too. He was saying we could be in for a loooooooooooooooooong night if Hawaii holds as battleground status. LOL!
Do not know if this was posted before or not. I am watching the re-run of Larry King and he opened the show with Edwards digging himself in a big hole with this explosive story.
I thought it was a little strange that Chris Matthews on Hardball didn't make a big deal out of this story. He's been very anxious lately to jump on anything he can to make Bush look bad. He obviously had already been told by PMSNBC that the story was false.
I don't this Drudge has this right.
I listened to the news story. Someone else listen.

You rally blew them away, Laura!!! Way to go!!!!!!!!
LOL! I made a prediction a week before the DNC convention that the October Surprise would be a concession speech from John Kerry.
That's it, Sean Hannitized him! LOL
I've got a question for anyone who might know:
One of the embed reporters with the 101st at the time was Dana Lewis. He since left MSNBC for FOX. I just went to FOX to do a search on his bio- and do not find him listed there anymore. In fact- it's been several weeks since I've seen him do a report.
Anyone know where he is now?
