KERRY SPOT
Jim Miklaszewski of NBC News pretty much dismantled the New York Times attack on behalf of Kerry today.
NBC News: Miklaszewski: April 10, 2003, only three weeks into the war, NBC News was embedded with troops from the Army's 101st Airborne as they temporarily take over the Al Qakaa weapons installation south of Baghdad. But these troops never found the nearly 380 tons of some of the most powerful conventional explosives, called HMX and RDX, which is now missing. The U.S. troops did find large stockpiles of more conventional weapons, but no HMX or RDX, so powerful less than a pound brought down Pan Am 103 in 1988, and can be used to trigger a nuclear weapon. In a letter this month, the Iraqi interim government told the International Atomic Energy Agency the high explosives were lost to theft and looting due to lack of security. Critics claim there were simply not enough U.S. troops to guard hundreds of weapons stockpiles, weapons now being used by insurgents and terrorists to wage a guerrilla war in Iraq. (NBCs Nightly News, 10/25/04)
If Jill Abramson, managing editor of the New York Times, had a shred of concern over her paper's reputation for getting the facts right never mind objectivity or fairness, she would be running the correction - or at least this blatantly contradictory information - in the giant headline font and above-the-fold location that today's story got. But I guess the interest in echoing the sentiments of Maureen Dowd is more important than getting it right at the Old Gray Lady.
LOL!!!
I'm sitting here watching Scarborough and on their "newsbreak" the ditz that was reading the news, repeated the missing weapons cache story and said that Kerry said that it "proved" Bush's incompetence in the war in Iraq and that Clinton agreed that this proved that Bush blew it. (paraphrased) Anyway, MSNBC LIVE is still reporting is as a big story.
I have one word for you... Wellstone. This will hurt the dims as much as that disgusting display at Paul Wellstone's Memorial.
These attacks are already backfiring amongst those whose vote is still up for grabs.
LLS

"Does any one else remember the story about Sadam replacing regular guards at the Syrian border with his private guards and trucks leaving Iraq. When trucks had gone, regular guards were sent back to their border post?"
Hi,
You mean this one?
"Saddam agents on Syria border helped move banned materials"
http://www.washtimes.com/national/20040816-011235-4438r.htm
Yes, that would be an historic rope-a-dope, especially if once the Kerry campaign and MSM have been tricked into publicizing this issue it can be tied to the larger issue of Saddams weapons shipments to Syria before the war. Is it too much to hope for that Rove and others have been planning this as a way to FORCE the MSM to give attention to the fact that many truckloads of munitions, weapons, and equipment went across the border to Syria before the war broke out??? It would be fabulous to see (1) the NY Slimes and the Kerry frauds embarrassed together, AND (2) the false NY Times story leading directly into the TRUE story of how so much materiel was shipped to Syria just before the war..... brilliant rope-a-dope or what?
More like, A German Eagle(pigeon) just said He,s voting for you!!
Almost looks as if Bill is workin his lips from back there! L0L
I didn't believe this headline, went to the Drudge site, and nearly fell off my chair in laughter. LOL!!
Drudge is in a playful mood tonight it would appear.
lol
Arrogant.
Al Qaqa, Al QaQaa, Al Qa'Qa are all good. Google doesn't like Al Qakaa.
Rathergate was their October Surprise. You guys blew them out of the water!! I just joined about 3 weeks ago. Its an honor to be associated you. I believe that Swift Boat Vets still have something up their sleeve.
Bush's first order of business the day after the election should be to dish out arrets warrants on the criminal organization called the Democratic party. Poetic justice for all of us.
You're right on the money, I read this same story a while back too.
As for the Dem. claims that the thefts of these weapons occurred due to a lack of boots on the ground, perhaps Bush or a spokesman might remind them that at the time of the looting the US had 150,000 troops on the ground, and Britian had 40,000. Add to that the 2,500 soldiers from Spain who helped in the early phases of the war and there were roughly 200,000 troops in Iraq. So sheer numbers don't necessarily guarantee that a war will go smoothly or that the other side won't fight back and do some damage.
I'm so tired of all this liberal b.s.
