KERRY SPOT
Jim Miklaszewski of NBC News pretty much dismantled the New York Times attack on behalf of Kerry today.
NBC News: Miklaszewski: April 10, 2003, only three weeks into the war, NBC News was embedded with troops from the Army's 101st Airborne as they temporarily take over the Al Qakaa weapons installation south of Baghdad. But these troops never found the nearly 380 tons of some of the most powerful conventional explosives, called HMX and RDX, which is now missing. The U.S. troops did find large stockpiles of more conventional weapons, but no HMX or RDX, so powerful less than a pound brought down Pan Am 103 in 1988, and can be used to trigger a nuclear weapon. In a letter this month, the Iraqi interim government told the International Atomic Energy Agency the high explosives were lost to theft and looting due to lack of security. Critics claim there were simply not enough U.S. troops to guard hundreds of weapons stockpiles, weapons now being used by insurgents and terrorists to wage a guerrilla war in Iraq. (NBCs Nightly News, 10/25/04)
If Jill Abramson, managing editor of the New York Times, had a shred of concern over her paper's reputation for getting the facts right never mind objectivity or fairness, she would be running the correction - or at least this blatantly contradictory information - in the giant headline font and above-the-fold location that today's story got. But I guess the interest in echoing the sentiments of Maureen Dowd is more important than getting it right at the Old Gray Lady.
I don't think they wanted the pajamahadeen to beat them to it again.
Ya right when cows fly
Dems will never never never admit they are wrong and will never apologize.
did you make it Snarky?
Does any one else remember the story about Sadam replacing regular guards at the Syrian border with his private guards and trucks leaving Iraq. When trucks had gone, regular guards were sent back to their border post?
Oh boy, aren't those fun..
Ding ding ding!
Yep, I remember that, there should be loads of articles and stories about it.
To whoever asked- David Bloom was with the 3rd ID
I'm forwarding this thread to my son...believe me- the 101st knows about this...as to any of them speaking out- I doubt it- unless it's from the top.
However, they are voting on 2 November. HOOAH!
Proud Screaming Eagle Mom
It's worthless as toilet paper, and I don't have a birdcage to line with it, so I wouldn't take that paper if you paid me....
LOL! You're at it again?
That's the nick-name for the N.Y.Times and that's all. Please learn these terms and welcome to FR. :-)

Can't both be true, now can they?
Thanks for the link. Just e-mailed him. For all the good it will do.
This is breaking were? I don't see it anywhere else but NRO.
Yeah, someone told me.
Bush needs to make this an issue! Point out at every campaign stop tomorrow that Kerry ran with a phony story, and call it a sign of desperation. In fact, it **WAS** a sign of desperation!
Exactly - they will launch one hit after another every day until the election, and no matter how discredited each story will be, the corrections and retractions won't be noticed by anyone but conservative political junkies. They are hoping to throw every bit of mud and slime they have left in their cesspool this week and hope that at least some of it will have an effect.
I can't but believe he has safety amour not made nor supplied by man - The stakes here are our very civilization and freedom...the "MAN" above has a big stake in the outcome of this election too - I believe he's running interference for our "Man" down here - for all of us.
And we best be doing the right thing, like fighting for the innocents - His children.
I find it mind-boggling that the "Human Rights" and ilk don't count little babies, just minutes away from taking thier first breath, as 'human."
I saw a report when they deployed it was Dana Lewis with the 101st
