Bush is the only president in history to cut taxes while at war.He cut them before 9/11. Additionally, raising taxes during a recession deepens and prolongs it.

People who "rely on their advisors" are usually so smart that THEY KNOW THEY DO NOT KNOW IT ALL.....unlike most Libs, who are arrogant pricks, who are know it alls.

No country has ever taxed itself into wealth and success, that requires capitalism, and capitalism requires tax breaks and incentives to grow the economy and tax base.

Do you think conservative opinions would be allowed at DU?

I cannot post an alternate opinion? Post it on the "alternate" web site.
To: RushCrush
Well I don't think that's right either. Nothing will get done unless both parties can work together. Both parties want the same things. They just disagree about how to get to that point.

Republicans that like to pidgeon-hole Kerry as "French". I wish politics were clear of such vile names and just focused on the issues.*************
Ah, yes. "French" is a pretty vile name.

I have not said anything wrong or degrading In post #14 you said you were going to vote for Kerry. What is "right" about that?
To: trisham
It is when the country is so upset with the French that they changed the name of french fries to freedom fries. It certainly carries a negative feeling.

Do you voluntarily pay extra taxes? You know, to "help out."

My daughter is in 8th grade at a suburban Catholic school. She told me about a recent discussion in their class about the election. One girl raised her hand and said, word for word, "I would never, like, vote for Bush because he isn't even, like, smart enough to put together a, like, complete sentence." My daughter said she laughed out loud at the time.

Oh come on. If the only reason this guy's voting for Kerry is that Bush cut taxes during a time of war, he's pretty close to the Conservative position. He admits there IS a war, which is a start.
To: Zorro349
It certainly carries a negative feeling. And feelings are very important, aren't they?

My main problem is that he did not take back the tax break while we were at war. During times of war the country is supposed to help out. Bush is the only president in history to cut taxes while at war. If that is true, than why does Kerry just want to increase taxes on those who earn more than 200K, yet he promises to give more tax breaks to the middle class? Kerry is promising more tax breaks in time of war. Why doesn't Kerry propose rescinding the whole Bush tax cut?
