Chip-making factory in Richardson expected to create 1,000 jobs
Texas Instruments Inc. plans to announce today that it will break ground Nov. 18 on a state-of-the-art chip plant in Richardson, fulfilling a major part of the economic development deal it made last year. In exchange for TI's promise to build a Texas factory that is expected to eventually employ 1,000 people, Gov. Rick Perry allocated $50 million from a corporate incentive fund to the University of Texas at Dallas. UTD will ceremonially start construction of its engineering building on the same date.

Wow. A corporation that actually kept its word on building a new plant, after securing public support.
It tells a lot about TI management. Not perfect, but very capable.
A thousand jobs in the TI corridor will be welcomed with open arms, after the beating telecom has taken for the last few years.
I keep my Ti plant on the front porch. A little Miracle-Gro erey now and then. Lot's of sun and water.......
