Recuperating Clinton to Hit Stump for Kerry

The Kerry campaign is calling on a heavy hitter from its bench: Former President Bill Clinton plans to hit the trail for the Democratic presidential hopeful Monday in the battleground state of Pennsylvania.

"I'm going out tomorrow," Clinton told ABC News' Diane Sawyer today in an exclusive interview airing today on "World News Tonight," Monday on "Good Morning America," and Thursday on "Primetime."

Both campaigns are relying on star power in the final days. The Bush campaign has California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger stumping for the president in Ohio this week.

Clinton, who recently had heart bypass surgery, said he did not want to miss the chance to weigh in before Election Day on Nov. 2.

"I want to do this," he said. "Sen. Kerry asked me to do it. And I want to do it … because it's close, and because I think it's important, and because the differences between the two candidates and the courses they will pursue in the next four years are so profound."

Health Risk? Clinton does not believe he is putting his health at risk by campaigning.

"I talked to my doctors about it and they made some very helpful suggestions," he said. "They said, you know, I should get wherever I'm going early in case I'm tired, so I can kind of regenerate."

Both Clinton and his wife, Sen. Hillary Clinton, agree the former president's appearances should be limited.

"She didn't want me to do too much, and I don't either," Clinton said. "I think there would be a point of diminishing returns. I think, you know, there's only so much anyone else can do in a campaign that he or she is not the candidate in."

"She didn't want me to do too much"

That can be interpreted many ways!

Recuperating Clinton to Hit Stump for Kerry

an unpleasant word-picture.

At least it won't be in the Oval Office.

Recuperating Clinton

Simultaneously this means that he's feeling pain - auch, this time his own, but feels your's too and wants to address that if (sic) he can, but hey, please have low expectations everybody. And he won't exceed them because Hillary (who's waiting for 2008) would bean him soundly upside the head if he overexerted himself in that mission.

I think it's a dream sequence, the same one he had when he saw that bridge to the 21st century.

I mean, all the tree-hugging pot-smoking socialists I've ever known wouldn't have the guts to do anything like this.

C'mon, Johannes, stick with us here. You're certainly welcome here at FR - we've been watching your career with great interest, as they say across the Pond - but let's try to stay on topic, at least. 'K?

I still think this whole Clinton heart surgery was timed.

Until I see the zipper scar, I do not believe it even happened. The man is such a liar just for starters.

So Kerry the great finisher is no more? He needs a recuperating ex-president to help him. With Kerry's luck, Bill is going to do a Fidel after speaking somewhere and this whole thing will backfire on him.

Dude, he's been a FR joke for the last few weeks. Like a lot of DU trolls, he started off light and has got more and more obnoxious. Good fodder for the private chats, anyway.

Check out his history, it's a kind of Trolls-R-Us primer.

I must have missed that or just don't pay enough attention to troll names! Is it possible to check history if the account has been banned? I've never looked at previous posts of anyone before. I guess now is as good a time as any!
