As in many past elections, Americans are closely divided over who should be the next president. It's not a clear-cut case of one candidate being far superior to the other. Yet history is not made by those who stand on the sidelines and wring their hands. The people must choose on Nov. 2, and The Courant recommends George W. Bush over John F. Kerry.

I escaped Connecticut in 1993 for the freedom of Virginia. Lowell Wiecker and the Clintoons did in the economy. I was a GOP District Chairman in Milford, and was here 4 months when I worked on electing George Allen Governor. Life south of the Mason-Dixon is sweet. Better Public schools, low taxes, fewer Left wing nuts in powers, and better weather.
Wow! This is series too! Could CT be the 'surprise NE state' that will be in play? I know plenty of my Dem friends are voting for Bush. Here in SW CT, we lost friends on 9/11.
I can't figure what is going on!!! The only daily in our area that thinks of itself as "New York Times Junior" and is very leftist/liberal year-round.......endorsed Bush today!!!
This is an overwhelmingly Republican upstate PA county, but that has never influenced their editorials or endorsements before.
BTW, did I hear right: WMDs in Iraq....that don't exist...
