NYT DEVELOPING EXCLUSIVE FRONT PAGE STORY ON TERRORISTS AND EXPLOSIVES. EDITOR HAS SET LEAD POSITION FOR STORY, NEWSROOM SOURCES TELL DRUDGE... DEVELOPING...
No. Frankly I don't care either :-)
So the story is...Bush and his lack of planning, etc, let this ammo get lifted and now it's being used to attack our own soldiers. If it happened it was a mistake, mistakes happen IN WAR...Good Grief, could you IMAGINE fighting WWII with this nonsense being reported every day? The good news is it will come out in the Times, which everyone knows is a Dem house organ...die hard dems will believe everything, republicans won't believe anything and independents will still be undecided...the funny thing is the morning shows will scream and cry about this for the first part of the week, praying for some traction...then will be all the more saddened and shocked with W starts to gain midweek and kicks a$$ the following Tue...
Sooooooooo does this mean I can finally jump in front of the bus and end it all since the world is coming to an end ???
Welcome to FR!
I'm new here too - in fact, I also was drawn to this site as a result of the whole fabricated document scandal, which I'm sure will be resolved very soon (yeah right).
I've also been accused of being a troll for putting up this post:

Someone read the title and Freepmailed me to accuse me of being a troll! I wrote them back that it was obvious they did not even read my post.
Don't take it personally - nerves are on edge because of the election...
Again, welcome fellow newbie!!!
They're pullin' out their BIG guns!
I welcome you to FR. Sometimes emotion gets the best of everyone...even long time freepers. For the most part you will find this a wonderful place for news and comments. Just overlook the few who don't add much substance...you'll find the majority do. There are many great minds here...stay tuned.!
Michael Moore, may he get hemmoriods the size of basketballs. And I mean that in the nicest way of course.
Thank you very much.......
I'm afraid though that you have put yourself right in the line of jmstein7's fire..
WEll, you really would be at at a stretch to say that...
First, Saddam had over half a million tons of explosives in a nation the size of California. Even if our so-called "allies" had helped out----there was no getting all of it. period.
Second: Remmeber what I said about this stuff negating the whole "Bush Lied" BS. This goes a long way to stopping that argument cold. As for the Soldiers being in harms way, yes that IS true. HOWEVER, keep in mind that you can get blown up by a lot of other things that are commonplace (remember OKC?)
My friends and family that were Army told me another thing: they (as soldiers) are better equipped to deal with the explosives than WE as civilians can having that stuff going off here.
I had a good amount of time in the service--and have to agree with that.
"And that (true or not) it could have been prevented."
Why don't you try to make me "STFU"? You've harrassed countless people on this thread.

LOL!
Welcome to FreeRepublic(#16)
I doubt this story is true.
350 tons of high explosives don't get dumped willy-nilly on a Mercedes flatbed or a fleet of Toyota pick-ups and are driven off in a day.
Probably some college yutz.
But this means that there were nuclear-component grade materials missing. That stuff was there. In large quantities.
If - this was 'coverered up' - that may mean that the Dueffler report is inaccurate too - since whatever ELSE there was also kept secret.
What other things might a dictator store in the same complex as nuclear weapon components?
Hmmm?
This isn't going to run as anti-Bush. The only reason to keep this secret was operational security on the investigation - if they were investigating this and didn't want to give away anything.
The only reason a DOD directive would be involved to not cooperate with UN oversight 'committees' would be in investigation of an imminent or present danger to the US.
He said at the top he'd tell all about the NYT story.
