Washington, DC—Representatives Eric Cantor (R-VA), Mario Diaz-Balart (R-Florida) and Jim Ryun (R-Kansas) issued the following statement today regarding a speech on faith and values by Senator Kerry today in Florida.
"Senator Kerry managed to give 'a major speech on faith and values' today without mentioning either one in any detail. Protecting the sanctity of marriage and promoting a culture of life are issues of importance to people of faith across all cultures, creeds and denominations. John Kerry voted against members of his own party when he voted against the ban on partial birth abortion and against the defense of marriage act.
"John Kerry himself has quoted scripture and pointed out that 'faith without works is dead.' The same can be said about empty political speeches about faith and values that ignore a 20 year record of voting against both in the United States Senate."

An hour ago, I watched Fr Benedict Groeschel, EWTN, answer Kerry beliefs even tho he didn't identify him by name. He said, "A candidate who disobeys his church for the sake of his constituents is violating his conscience. You can't be a disciple of Christ if you violate his teachings.
He compared abortion to the to the killing of Jews in Germany during World War II. "It was law of the land to
exterminate Jews", he said, "that does not make it right?"

In Kerry's world the "deeds" that he talks about are more and more $$$$ in the government coffers. He always chides Bush using this "scripture" about faith without deeds (It makes my hair on my neck stand up when he then says "my brothers", yuck) to accuse Bush of doing no "deeds".
In my world, freeing 50 million people living in tyranny and being murdered and tortured, is a pretty good deed.
It is said that Kerry's Boss is fond of quoting it.
Corrie Tenbune's (sp) famous line in "The Hiding Place" is relevant to Kerry .... "Just because a mouse get's into a cookie jar, that doesn't make him a cookie". And just because we find Kerry in a church service spouting scriptures...it surely doesn't make him a Christian. He is an exploiter, with or without camoflouge clothing.
Not only does Kerry not have a conscience, he has no heart or soul.
He defiles every church he speaks in. What respectable minister/preist/preacher would allow him into thier church?

Please, tell me, what Catholic Church did Kerry Speak in that you are all referring to. I can not imagine that even as bad as the Church has been on responding to the issues and the vote, that any Pastor would let him speak in the Church.

I am not sure that he spoke in a Catholic church at all today. He spoke in two black churches. I heard the first was an African Zion Methodist Episcopal church. I don't know what the other one was.
And whose gov'ts posed a direct threat to the future of the free world.

Thanks for returning a reply so quickly. Glad to hear it was not a Catholic Church. As a Catholic, I am so very upset with my Church. Traditionaly Catholics have been Democrats. I call on Democrats to realize that their party is not longer the old Democratic party. It has gone to the far left and the liberals will not rest until your values have been supressed.
