Just to piss off and drive the DUmmies nuts, I would love for the final numbers to be exactly that.

I'm wondering at the tactical logic behind coming out and saying something like this. Also, why did they leak it a day ahead of time?

Also, if our long awaited October Surprise is coming tomorrow (as predicted) Cheney's appearance must be coordinated. After all, why would be put himself at the mercy of Lauer or Couric if he didn't have to?

Maybe he said it just to make Matt Lauer and Katie cry.

But "whyever" he said it, it was right to say it. That's the kind of guy he is: right.

LOL!!

I do love Cheney.

Sometimes..even in an election year..we need to lighten up. :-D

1) This prediction gets under the Libs collar.

2) His confidence makes them question what he knows that they don't know. Some may even pack it in.

3) It serves to interfere with the MSM's mental games that the Bush campaign is on the ropes in the final stretch.

4) It makes Bush supporters freak out, so they'll overcompensate by working harder to ensure this prediction comes true.

5) Bandwagon voters are going to jump on the Bush/Cheney train, not so much because of what he said, but because they are calm. Which is body evidence of impending victory. Unlike another campaign screaming itself hoarse that looks increasingly desperate.

I don't know the future, neither does Cheney. It's not overconfidence, his pronouncement is strategy.

I think a few crack sniffing dogs could lower the fraudulent vote card count. I’m pretty sure my dog Fang is available that day!

State-by-state polls with voter turnout from 2000 projected upwards by population growth are currently showing Bush 48.5 - Kerry 45

I've seen GOP GOTV predicted for a 3% betterment of the projected GOP total, when Dems are expeting a 1.5% betterment of their projected total from GOTV, so we need to add 1.5% to the GOP margin for GOTV efforts

Thus, 50-45.

Undecideds then break evenly, and the Field collects 1%, Bush 52-Kerry 47. That will turn into an Electoral vote tally somwhere between 360 and 400 for Bush.

I can buy that.

I can't explain why but I have felt all along that Bush will win by a solid 5 points. I hope Cheney and I are both right.

Lord, please let this Cheney prediction come true. This is music to my ears, as I have bad poll news all day - it seems to be tied from all news reporters. However, do we trust them? LOL

Hmmm--this makes me ask two questions:

1. Since the MSM never reports anything accurately, what did Cheney actually say, in what context?
2. Since Cheney has obviously considered how the MSM is going to react to him saying this, what's he hoping the effect will be?

Dick Cheney is always right. In fact, given his modesty, make it 53%.
