Dueling Truths: Vietnam Service
Society of Professional Journalists
Houston, Texas (United States)
ID: 184098 - 10/20/2004 - 1:45 - $29.95
Stein, Robert, Dean, Rice University, Social Science
Smith, Glenn W., Executive Director, Texans for Truth
O'Neill, John E., Spokesman, Swift Boat Veterans for Truth
At a membership meeting of the Society of Professional Journalists Houston chapter at PJ's Sports Bar the impact of 527s on the 2004 election was discussed. These advocacy groups, created in response to campaign finance law reforms, have created controversies such as one over the military service of presidential candidates Senator John Kerry and President George W. Bush and its implications for fitness to be commander-in-chief of the U.S. Armed Forces. A panel consisting of leaders of two 527 groups, on anti-Kerry, one anti-Bush, and a political observer will discuss the phenomenal growth of 527s and their impact on the election.
Mr. O'Neill is the co-author of Unfit for Command: Swift Boat Veterans Speak Out Against John Kerry from Regnery Publishing, which is a critique of Senator John Kerry's military service. Mr. Smith is the author of Unfit Commander: Texans for Truth Take on George W. Bush, published by Regan Books, which argues that the Bush administration is cynical and anti-democratic.
Cool.. John is talking about MSM supression.

This program started at Noon Eastern Time, and runs for and hour and 45 minutes.
Opposing view by Mr. Smith, author of "Unfit Commander."
Ironically, Bush dissed the Swiftboat vets, who are the only reason he still had a lead after his first debate. If only he had merely defended their right to speak, Bush would be able to demonstrate to Americans that Kerry helped America lose the Vietnam war and is trying to help America lose the war in Iraq.
Hah! O'Neill brings up 'Rathergate'! LOL Yay John!
Bump to read later.
Questioner bringing up Sinclair issue of the Kerry campaign threating to sue if program aired.
Heh.. Kerry supporter.. Lawrence O'Donnell wannabe
Why do I have this desire to reach though my screen and put my hands around Glenn Smith's throat?
I'd like to get my hands on a couple of the "journalists" in the audience.
Yes, I especially like the "journalist" wearing the "Republicans for Kerry" T-shirt.
I saw that.
John O'Neill is doing as well as he did on the Dick Cavett Show, however.
Johnnie O. is DOMINATING --with the facts.
People are COMPELLED to listen. Even the Bush basher author is.
O'Neill just mentioned Kerry's less than honorable discharge.
