It was awesome!!!
But I was really worried when that plane intentionally flew right over the field where the President was speaking!!!
For a bit, I truly thought they would shoot it down!!!!
Those F16 mean business, and it seemed the plane was totally and intentionally ignoring the warnings!!
Thousands upon thousands were there....
..but I'm sure our red rag newspaper in the AM will probably report a couple hundred or whatever!!!
Chillbump time when the President's helicopter landed right on the field!!!!!!!
What a thrill it must have been to be there. The only presidential rally I attended was with the wonderful President Reagan in Fairfield CT in 1984. His youthful exuberance belied his 73 years.
Did GWB talk about his plans for the space program at this event? Space is obviously important in that part of FL. In addition to it being a symbol of national pride, it means jobs.
I choked on my coffee the other morning when I opened the editorial page of the Red Paper and saw that they had endorsed Dave Weldon (R) for reelection to Congress PLUS they had a Jeff Parker cartoon that was anti-Kerry!
I thought I was in an alternate universe for a second.
Couldn't make it to see the President today, unfortunately. Had to take one of my boys to a birthday party.
Here's what the "Red Paper" (Florida Today) is reporting on their website:
GOP officials claimed 25,000 people attended the rally.
Earlier, it was reported that all 14,000 tickets to the rally had been given out.
Ballpark.com states that the seating capacity of Space Coast Stadium is 8,100. I'm not good at estimating crowds but it looks like the place was packed plus more in the infield.
Not if there were people down below.
Good morning. Thanks for the ping.
