Almost a vanity? Probably. But if the Cleveland Plain Dealer endorses Bush, it would be a shock to metro Cleveland.

The publisher owns the newspaper; the editors are his hired hands who can be fired, generally, at will. The endorsement of a newspaper is really the endorsement of the publisher as it is the publisher who is responsible for the content of the newspaper, not the editors.

The PD endorsed Bush in 2000
Browns were NFL champs often from 1950-1964.
Indians were in World Series twice last decade, and should have won in 1997.
Cavaliers have the best player in the NBA.

I was in labor when the Tribe was playing the World Series then. They left it on the tv in my labor room.
