Hamas has described the killing of one of its top militants, Adnan al-Ghul, as a "great loss to our people and to the resistance". In a statement dated 21 October the group's military wing added that its operations would not be affected by Al-Ghul's death. The following is the text of the "military communique" by the Hamas military wing Izz-al-Din al-Qassam Brigades published by Izz-al-Din al-Qassam Brigades web site on 22 October
How many of the prophets fought in Allah's way, and with them fought large bands of godly men, but they never lost heart if they met with disaster in Allah's way, nor did they weaken in their resolve nor give in. And Allah loves those who are firm and steadfast. [Koranic verse]
A military communique issued by the Izz-al-Din al-Qassam Brigades: A new commander steps down. Death is coming to the enemies. The departure of the chief engineer after mentoring hundreds of Al-Qassam engineers.
O masses of our Arab, Islamic nation. O masses of our struggler Palestinian people.
The chaste blood of Al-Qassam members continues to water the blessed land of Palestine. The heroic mujahidin, covered by their blood and with a sweet fragrance flowing from their bodies, continue to flock to God's Gardens of Paradise. They pave the way with their torn limbs; they plant the earth with endurance and expectation and water it with their chaste blood so that it will later produce victory and empowerment, God willing.
The Izz-al-Din al-Qassam Brigades proudly announce the martyrdom of two of their valiant commanders who devoted their whole life to effort and jihad, never relenting, never wavering in their resolve and never weakening even as their jihad stretched across the years:
Al-Qassam Martyr Senior Commander Yahya (Adnan) Mahmud Jabir al-Ghul (Abu-Bilal), 46, a native of Al-Mighraqah.
A senior Al-Qassam commander and chief engineer in the explosives manufacturing department in Al-Qassam Brigades during Al-Aqsa intifadah and in the period prior to it. During that time he developed, along with his brothers in Al-Qassam Brigades, the group's military industries and executed numerous manufacturing projects, the last of which was the anti-armour Al-Yasin missile. He had been pursued by the Zionist occupation forces for the past 18 years during which he became a historic legend of endurance in the face of the occupation. Two of his sons were martyred during more than one assassination attempt against him. His third son was placed in detention.
And Al-Qassam Martyr Imad Mahmud Id Abbas (Abu-Ahmad)
The two were martyred in a treacherous missile attack carried out by one of the tyrannical enemy's aircraft against the vehicle in which they were riding in the city of Gaza on the evening of Thursday, 7 Ramadan 1425 hijirah, corresponding to 21 October 2004.
We, of Izz-al-Din al-Qassam Brigades, assert that hundreds of Al-Qassam engineers will continue the march after their commander. We assure our people and our nation that Al-Qassam Brigades' military industries will not be affected as a result of the departure of the senior commander who mentored hundreds of martyrdom seekers and worked on dozens of projects to develop Al-Qassam weapons.
The departure of the two commanders Yahya al-Ghul and Imad Abbas is a great loss to our people and to the resistance. Nevertheless the path of jihad and resistance requires sacrifices. This chaste blood will be the tax that we pay for victory and empowerment, God willing. We take comfort in the fact that the martyr left behind him a major military legacy. Work to develop this legacy will continue, God willing.
We assert that the tyrannical Zionist enemy has perpetrated a great idiocy by assassinating our Al-Qassam commanders. The enemy will discover how idiotic this action was at the appropriate time and in the appropriate manner.
"And soon the unjust assailants will discover what vicissitudes their affairs will take" [Koranic verse]
It is jihad until victory or martyrdom.
[Signed] The Izz-al-Din al-Qassam Brigades,
Thursday 7 Ramadan 1425 of the hijirah,
Corresponding to 21 October 2004.
Boom!
I need a violin pic.
Too bad for them, crybabies.
WAAAAHHHHHH!!!!! WAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!!!! WAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!
Is this when we dance in the streets....aren't they head straight into the arms of 72 virgins?
I love that IDF early-retirement plan.
Aw shucks, how awful of the rascally Jews to kill a terrorist leader who was killing their people...
The only problem with Israel's response is that it still leaves too many terrorist alive.
"Hamas has described the killing of one of its top militants, Adnan al-Ghul, as a "great loss to our people and to the resistance" GOOD GOOD I want that devil evil lucifer persons dead that is good :}}}} Thank you
From what I am reading on another thread, Arafat may be joining him soon.
Is the BBC trying to sanitize the loss of this murderous terrorist? They are using the spelling "al-Ghul" instead of the spelling "al-Ghoul" which is apparently used by all other media sources. "Ghoul" is and was an appropriate moniker for that demon-spawned filth. So, not only does BBC refer to him euphemistically as a "top militant" instead of as a "murderer" or "terrorist", but also sees fit to drop the 'o' from the English spelling of the guy's name (in order not to offend who? um, Satan perhaps?)
"great loss" Nah, means one less islamic terrorist dispensed posthaste to his 72 virgins. And we're rejoicing.
Where is the barf alert on this stuff? Keep launching those missiles until every last one of these filthy, murdering barbarians are 'martyred'.
Does anyone other than me sense a great weakness in this statement? I think it's starting to get to them and they are beginning to realize that they are NOT going to win this.
Wow... that's a blow. They know Mohammed Dief is in Israel's gunsights. Its a matter of time before he goes to meet the 70 virgins as well.
lol, the ghoul thing I was thinking about too.
The BBC is well know for it's left-leaning world view.
Not much seen nor heard from him of late. Perhaps the weight of crosshairs always being on you outdoes any thoughts of the 72 virgins.
Go Israel!!!! Good job!!!!
