12000 Show Support of Presidant at Ft. Myers Florida Rally (Vanity I was there)
Posted on 10/23/2004 2:00:43 PM PDT by Defendingliberty
We arrived at 6am for a 10am appearance of the President. The line was already long. The crowd was estimated to be 12,000+. Thats no overestimation, every seat in City of Palms Park (Ft. Myers, Florida) was filled in addition to the infield. In my early morning scouting of the venue I noted that 1500-2000 seats had an obstructed view of the podium.
In addition to the usual speeches by local dignitaries we were entertained be a country singer (Whos name escapes me) that had the joint jumping. The President arrived and delivered a fabulous speech. It was George Bush at his best; a combination of policy, his record and humor.
The overwhelming show of support and love of the President was evident throughout the event. I spotted many people whipping away a tear of joy or pride.
Following the event we were greeted to a view of 50 Anti-Bush protestors (the media estimated it at 200). This display didnt spoil the mood of the crowd. A good day was had by all.

Sorry if I get off the subject, but, has anyone gone to DRUDGE REPORT and saw the article about CHER ?
I read the article and it said, that CHERS people and CHER expected thousands of people to show up at the disco she was at, but, only a few hundred showed up, she was dumbfounded, and wondered why she only had a few hundred to show up.
I guess that is a telling sign about the democrats champaign.

What a wonderful day for you!
Hey, didn't someone post yesterday that Bush was to have a surprise guest at one of his stops today in Florida? Was the surprise guest Buzz Aldrin?
